My wife and I stayed at the Bastide in July. Our time there was lovely and because of the good care of the owners we felt completely at ease. Marie-Claire and Jan are very welcoming, friendly hosts who will do everything in their power to accommodate you during your stay. When we arrived we we're immediately invited for a welcome drink. On certain nights they offered a delicious dinner menu (cooked by Jan himself), which we highly recommend! We can only hope that the new owners of the hotel have their same finesse and hospitality, because it takes a lot to do a better job than them.

Our 4th stay and superb as always. A beautiful old Bastide and pristine pool set in wonderful grounds, all washed by the scent of fresh herbs. Sylvia and her staff work hard to ensure a pleasurable stay in comfortable rooms, beautiful breakfasts and curtesy of a very talented young chef splendid dinners.

I just finished my second stay at the Bastide. The new owners are doing a great job keeping up the property. The garden, pool and hot tub are truly gorgeous and the rooms are lovely as well! In my opinion, Boulbon makes a great base for exploring Provence- Arles, Sant Remy, Avignon and Les Baux are 30 min or less away and lots of others are within an hour, like Gordes! This hotel is a place to slow down and savour the relaxed Provence experience which we absolutely love. Popping out to cute nearby towns to amble through the streets and cafes, and coming back to the hotel to laze in the pool are the order of the day. The hotel dinner was also quite good! And there are a few options in Boulbon to try (we ate at a small food truck festival there Sunday evening when many things were closed). It’s a great place to feel more exposed to locals while still a gorgeous villiage and area! I think the hotel is a fabulous value for the money, in my opinion the outdoor area is truly 5 stars!

A romantic, small, quiet and relaxing hotel with an exceptionally hospitable crew. You immediately feel at home here. Pure relaxation. Whether in the large pool, on the terrace, in the tastefully furnished rooms or in the romantic park. Plus a sumptuous breakfast that leaves nothing to be desired. Several days a week, there is high-quality cooking in the evenings, and the other days Oranger with its Provencal cuisine is just a few steps away. If you want to experience the original Provence instead of the tourist hustle and bustle, this is the right place. In medieval Boulbon, the clocks are ticking slower and relaxation is spreading with all your senses.
We have been spending part of our summer holidays here for 9 years - what better recommendation? For next year we have already reserved again ...

Staying here was the highlight of our honeymoon through France. It is a beautiful property in a very charming town. We were so relaxed here! The staff were extremely welcoming and everything was very clean. The room we stayed in was updated and very comfortable. The breakfast was so delicious as were the house cocktails. We were sad to have not tried the dinner but it smelled delicious! There is not too much to do in Boulbon itself, but it is very nice to walk around with virtually no one else around (which is a good thing in my opinion) It feels more of an authentic quiet town in Provence than the others you may visit. It is a great base to travel around the region with most major sites within a 30 minutes drive. I hope one day we can return!

A wonderful dinner with friends on the pleasant terrace of the Bastide, enhanced by the invigorating, fair and very fine cuisine of this young chef Alexandre Loisel, who has worked for great establishments. There is enthusiasm, freshness and boldness in this tasty cuisine. A little thought for the risotto with its homemade langoustine head oil. Hats off to the artist 👌

We spent two nights at La Bastide de Boulbon and enjoyed our stay very much. The room, the service and the meals where excellent. It is a charming place in an old villa with a wonderful garden and a pool. Since Boulon is very small and has only a couple of restaurants, dinner at the hotel is a good option. We had a very nice dinner with good wines at reasonable prices.

We spent a week in this beautiful country house nestled in a beautiful garden with a beautiful pool and jacuzzi! Beautiful decoration, rooms, welcome and perfect services. Hearty breakfast and evening dinner is concocted by Chef Alexandre who knows how to perfectly combine the products of his terroir with an inventive and perfectly prepared kitchen! Perfect stay and a great quality!

Excellent stay and highly recommend!
1) room was clean, big, with good quality appliances. We stayed at Ground Floor suite with its own terrace which offered lots of space and privacy. The daily cleaning was done very well.
2) the garden is spacious and peaceful, with plenty of resting spaces.
3) the team is very kind and welcoming, and helped us with local suggestions.
4) the restaurant is just amazing, some of the best food we had during the trip.

We loved our stay here! The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and had great views of the property grounds. The property itself had gorgeous and well tended gardens with several spots to sit under the trees or around the pool area. Breakfast was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. The town was very charming and very well located to several places in that area that we visited. Would highly recommend!

Do any of the rooms have a balcony or terrace?

Good evening, As you can see on the pictures of our website, there are no rooms with a balcony (our hotel is an old bastide). One room has direct access to the garden. Anyway, everybody says we have a beautifull garden ..... Kindest regards Marie-Claire

Yes there are shower heads but they are low about waist high. As far as the differences in the rooms I can only comment on second and third floor and we stayed in rooms facing the garden. The only difference was the size of the windows. But I'm sure if you are not facing the garden the rooms would be much warmer as we had a great breeze at night. There is air conditioning and it works very well.
