We've just made 2-week road trip from Milan to Paris, trying to stay in the hotels most recommended by Trip Advisor. 8 places in total, including a former Abbey in Burgundy, and this was certainly the best! Every detail is taken care of: your daily...More
Returning to this hotel after 12 months has seen it reach new heights. Hosts Marie-Claire and Jan are not only welcoming and accommodating in every respect, but go out of their way to ensure that their boutique hotel is conducted with flair and style. A...More
We stayed at Bastide for four nights in June and had a wonderful experience. While the property is top-notch, what sets Bastide apart is the hospitality of Marie-Claire and Jan. We felt as though we were personal guests of theirs, not guests at a hotel....More

Yes there are shower heads but they are low about waist high. As far as the differences in the rooms I can only comment on second and third floor and we stayed in rooms facing the garden. The only difference was the size of the windows. But I'm sure if you are not facing the garden the rooms would be much warmer as we had a great breeze at night. There is air conditioning and it works very well.
