This lodge has the most breathless view. Every bungalow was designed nicely with attention to detail. (Bungalow 5 is breathtaking). The most amazing thing about this lodge is the little terrace in front of the bungalow with it's little private splash pool. Here you can relax and enjoy the breathtaking view over the savanna. The food was good, nothing to...

True - after a heavy rainfall there are "soapy" patches on the last stretch of the 32 km sand road between the tar road C 22 and us. You have to drive carefully. However, usually it's raining in the night and the sun is quickly drying up the road on the next day. During the last few weeks we experienced...

I was glad that there was a small mix up on arrival. I was meant to be on the Plateau but was sent down into the Valley Wilderness Lodge for the first night. This way I got to experience both very different sites. Getting there is a little exciting in places particularly in or after heavy rain. The valley rooms...

Five stars, thank you! So it paid off to instruct the Flycatcher chicks to wait for you with their first flight ;-) Smiling greetings from the Waterberg!

Have stayed here a number of times and the Plateau Lodge is their best product. The design very nice but no maintenance. Walking up to the top of the plateau needs to be done with a bit of care but it is worth it. Amazing views from the top. Breakfast room dark and dingy. They have a very nice terrace...

Phew! We did not believe what we were reading until we came to your your last line: 42 chalets. That is definitely not us, but neighbouring Waterberg Camp of NWR. Don't feel bad, you are not the first one on this portal making this mistake. Greetings from Waterberg Plateau Lodge

a peaceful get away from the busy fast town life. challenging hiking trail, a few weeks of preparations should make it worth your while. Watch of for the baboons as those oekies have a tendency of wanting to come hang close by and often 'borrowing' your belongings.

Although we are tempted, we don't adorn ourselves with borrowed plumes: This comment does not refer to us, because we keep baboons at bay in order to guarantee the safety of our guests. Baboons who lose their respect for humans might even attack them when it comes to "borrowing" food...

Wilderness Waterberg has three accommodation options so be careful when booking. We inadvertently booked wilderness lodge when we meant to book the plateau. When we arrived for our 7 days stay we had to negotiate hard to have the booking moved. The plateau was a lovely relaxing spot with great views, we loved the plunge pool. Food was simple and...

Conducting the rhino tracking nearly every day, our guides might get a bit caught in their routine and give the impression of risking too much. We will make them aware of your concerns. However, let us assure you that our guides know the animals and their body language very well so that they will ask guests to retreat at the...

This was the only place in Namibia where we needed mosquito protection and the bed nets, but the location is great with wild animals coming close to the rooms! Baboons and kudus mainly, also mongoose. The rooms were very comfortable and quite big, without being luxurious. Would recommend doing the afternoon rhino drive, and also a walk near the the...

True: After some rainfall in November we had more mosquitoes than usual. The same is the case in Etosha and other regions of Namibia, even in the south of the country. This is nature. For a peaceful sleep of our guests we equipped all beds with mosquito nets. Great that you focused on the positive side of living in nature:...

- top location in Waterberg Plateau Park - gorgeous view over 'Namibia' - nice layout, large lodges, but without A/C & fridge - meals are ok - friendly staff - easy to walking / hiking trails around the Wilderness Lodge - it's definetly a recommendation just because of the view

Unfortunately our solar energy system does not allow aircons and fridges in the chalets. We will equip the rooms with a fan - in addition to the ventilator at the top of the high roof which releases warm air and thus causes the air to circulate.

What we liked -very charming lodge room with a little private pool -beautiful views / nature -guided activities aviable What you have to know -we had much better overall experience with the staff in other Namibian lodges before, this is the main reason for the 3 star rating -WLAN was not working at all during our entire stay -the rooms...

Thank you very much for your constructive criticism - much appreciated. We recruit the majority of our staff from the villages of the area where the unemployment rate is estimated at up to 45 percent, we train them from scratch and provide regular skill enhancement. It's a continuous process. Internet access and bandwidth was a problem since September in the...

Wonderful place with stunning view. Private and quiet bungalows, well equiped, own small pool. Sitting here is very relaxing. There are many dazzies nearby, also clip springers and birds. Wifi is at the restaurant. Staff very friendly. Guided walk on the plateau very interesting, rhino tracking in the afternoon astonishing. 5-10 meters of white rhinos! Fine meal, also for vegetarians...

We stayed here on our first & second nights of our self-drive holiday. We arrived after dark, so the spectacular landscape vista was not revealed to us until the following morning! Wow!
