As soon as you drive into Grassy Head, you feel the ambiance of simplicity. The kids are on their bikes & scooters having fun there is grass & trees everywhere & through a wooded path there is a beautiful beach. The sand is soft and white & there are an abundance of shells, the kids will love it, no crowds... More

Even though there are some lovely looking powered and unpowered grass sites under trees and also out in the sun most are uneven. The sites are quite small and you are restricted as to how close you can be to the edge of your site. You have to be 1.2 metres from the edges. This includes any ropes you might... More

Return each year for the same reason. Summer, sun, surf and good times. Each year we extend our camp and invite more family and friends. Gorgeous beaches, close to shopping and other activities. The mountain over the road is a must adventure too!

It's certainly an isolated, quiet & peaceful environment, which was perfect. Lady at the desk was friendly. Stunning beach and had it almost to ourselves. The cabins, however, desperately need a facelift. Old (with the associated smell) & basic. Double bed & bunks ok but needing new mattresses. Updated cook top & instant hot water. No A/C, not sure how... More

One of my favourite places. Quiet, secluded and beautiful. Great fishing straight out the front of the park. But be warned, the resident kookaburras are cheeky and aggressive. If you are with children beware when food is around. Last trip my husband had food taken from a fork as he was about to eat it, and this time I had... More

Thank you for your review we are sorry to hear of your encounter with the kookaburras! We do love and appreciate the wildlife and natural environment of the park but not at the risk of our customers. We encourage you to advise park front office staff when these things occur and we will look into options for discouraging the kookaburras... More

The area Grassy Head Caravan park is situated in, is beautiful. The beach is just over the sand dunes and is pristine. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the amenities block. We were there in Peak Season, and the main Shower/toilet block only housed 3 toilets and 2 showers, for approx 100 people. The bathrooms were old and dingy,... More

Amazing location right on a practicaly empty surf beach. Verry friendly staff. would recomend for any surfer. Also backpacker friendly. Went climbing up some cliff faces & while sitting under a tree half way up saw a pod of dolphins playing in the waves.

This place is a great place to get away from the world. There are a mix of cabins, powered and unpowered sites, along with a number of amenities blocks. A small number of the campsites have ensuite facilities. We have stayed in both cabins and powered sites, and have almost always enjoyed our time there - except when it rained... More

My partner and I decided to stay overnight in a cabin on our way back to Sydney. I'd stayed years ago as a kid during family holidays. Within 10 minutes, four goannas, the locals made themselves known to us. Amazing creatures. While waiting for the office to open, we decided to go for a quick paddle and try out a... More
