What can I say? Our time at the Serian camp was delightful! It exceeded all expectations and I have never been so satisfied with a holiday destination in my life as I am with this place. I can go on and on and repeat all the other positive reviews about this wonderful accommodation, location, sights, experiences and ample wildlife, but... More

Serian was our last safari stop of our 10 day honeymoon and we couldn't have loved it more! We stayed in a tented room the first night that was extremely private even thought one entire side of it opened up to the Mara River. The separate bathroom had a beautiful, rustic bathtub that was so lovely. The Maasai beaded detail... More

Everything about Serian Camp is wonderful. The camp is luxury meets the the naturalness of the Mara. The tents have every home comfort you would require on such a trip - including a sunken bath with a view of hippos in the river. Fred our host and the team made us feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble.... More

Our first visit to Kenya was complemented perfectly by a stay at Serian - While giving a strong feeling of remoteness Serian camp is extremely civilized and well organised to ensure that the stay is busy without being pressured. Our guide (Dennis) was exceptionally good at locating exactly what we wanted to see and we managed to find something new... More

Foremost, this camp gives every couple/family a private vehicle and outstanding guide! That is huge, because you decide with your guide what you want to see that day, and the guide takes you there. Mara North is vast, and the guide has to maximize your time. We saw other vehicles with 6-8 people in them- what if someone has paid... More

We returned 2 weeks ago from this wonderful camp. The location is beautiful. The staff and guides could not be more helpful. Sofi runs the camp with charm. The food was excellent from bush breakfasts to light lunches and delicious dinners. We had dinner in the bush one evening, incredible experience. Our guides were Shadrack and Dennis. I never worked... More

My wife and I spent our final three final days in the Mara at Serian Main after spending our first two nights at Serian Nkorombo. Both Serian Camps are tented with Serian Main being a permanent structure while Serian Nkorombo was technically a mobile camp. One of the best features we enjoyed about both camps was that we had the... More

This was my second visit to Serian so my expectations were high, and I'm happy to say they were surpassed. My tent was as comfortable as I remembered, but improved by the new ensuite bathroom area; drifting off to sleep in a four poster bed hugging a hot water bottle with the sound of the river rushing by and hippos,... In August 2016 I took my son and his family on the most magical adventure we have ever had! We stayed in the family tent at the Camp which equalled any 5 star hotel complete with 2 sunken bath tubs , posh living room, 2 spacious bedrooms with canopy beds and a huge private deck overlooking the river with lots... We have been to Kenya 3 times before and stayed at many camps.... we were very excited to be going to The Alex Serian tented camp in the Mara North conservancy......... But bitterly dissaponted with the camp from the very beginning, so much so we moved after 1 day and night to another camp. The only good thing we're any... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A traditional bush camp most suited to adventurous outdoors characters in search of a real experience. "Serian" means peaceful, calm or serene in the Maa language. An artists haven and one of the most picturesque sites in the Mara. Located in the heart of the Mara North Conservancy "Serian" operates throughout the year. A traditional tented camp focusing on quality game viewing and providing clients access to some of the very best game viewing in Africa. The migration of wildebeest occurs from June through October and sometimes November, quickly followed by the birthing season from October to March. April May & June offer opportunities for ornithologists and those who enjoy the solitude of the quiet season. Serian guarantees exclusive use of vehicle at no extra cost. This is the key to a quality experience and not a shared compromise. “Tents 3, 4 and 6 appear to me to have really lovely positions overlooking the river. Tent 5 is good if you have difficulty with steps or rough ground and tent 7 has a lovely position, but the good view was affected by the positioning of a tent sited on the other side of the river whilst we were there.”
