Detailed Reviews
The staff are exceptional, so friends, always asking if I need anything, always a hello as I come in or leave, very helpful and kind. My room is very large, very clean, large comfortable bed, lots of wardrobe space and large storage selves. The hotel is always quiet and warm (great in this cold weather), no traffic noise. Starbucks, greggs and shopping market withing a 30 second walk. I would highly recommend! My cats are also able to stay with me at very minimal cost. Perfect!

Myself and my husband stayed for one night at this travelodge before going to visit family, I was a little worried about noise as the hotel is located next to the A49 but this can all be sorted by ringing the hotel and asking for a quiet room I was very impressed with how easy this was. I recommend staying here we were in room 28 the room was spotless and most importantly very quiet it was a little cold but we sorted this by turning up the heater. When leaving the hotel we had a lovely chat with Emily at reception who was very friendly. We will definitely be staying here again.

The hotel was the closest, reasonably priced, hotel to Hay-on-Wye Book Festival but we were pleasantly surprised by the large size of our room. It was meticulously clean and tidy and the towels and bed linen were both clean and good quality. We opted for the take away breakfast which was also a pleasant surprise and more than adequate. The staff could not have been more helpful.
I would have given 5 stars but as a disabled person I would have appreciated more disabled parking spaces, especially on the hotel side of the car park, and a lift in the hotel. Having said that the staff member offered to carry my luggage upstairs, thank you to him! The morning receptionist was also pleasant and offered any help we required.
I did not book a disabled room so I cannot complain but I did find the shower in the bath a bit difficult to use.

Staff are friendly and helpful, however the hotel itself really needs some upgrades - the car park is covered in potholes and needs resurfacing, along with much better lighting. Door security could also be improved; there wasn't an obvious lock on the door. It would be helpful if bath mats/glasses/toilet brushes could be provided in rooms.
There is a restaurant/pub next door which does good food, plus a Starbucks cafe and a petrol station with good range of supplies and a small Greggs concession.

Stayed here recently on our way to Wales, we like travelodge as we travel with out dog and they are dog friendly.
The room we was allocated was on the first floor not a problem for us with a small dog however the lady on check in did suggest she could look to change us.
The hotel is just off the main road with a Starbucks opposite, a petrol station, Asda and Greggs all onsite even though we arrived late we was able to get snacks in the Asda.
The lady on check in was friendly and chatty.
The room was one of the biggest we have stayed in at a travelodge possibly a family room that had had the sofa bed removed, however it was not the cleanest room we have had. We picked up a couple of piece of broken children's plastic toy and there was a sock behind the toilet in the bathroom. We did not spot the sock this the morning other wise, I may of asked to change rooms. The lady on the reception desk when we was checking out was on the phone so no chance to mention then.
Overall we would visit again however would probably check how clean the room was on arrival.

Friendly staff but VERY tired. Rooms have only the very basic amenities, no hairdryer, no glasses, no bathmat, just 2 chairs and a desk table with a TV. Location is pretty good, but the nearest off licence is Ludlow. There is a Starbucks and garage/shop next door, but nothing if you want a tipple in your room. Even some of the plug sockets have even been blocked off. It seems as though they have removed the damaged or worn stuff and just not replaced them. The most basic TravelLodge I have stayed in. Even the sign by the road was washed out. Other reviews say it's going to be refurbished, and I only hope they do a proper job.

What can I say. To pay over £100 per night for really poor accommodation in a very tired looking and feeling place is quite frankly ridiculous. How these companies have the audacity to charge what they do for such poor quality is beyond me. However, we all keep paying so I guess the hoke is on us !!!!

This hotel was a last minute booking. I was delighted to find It had free parking. Went into reception to find a VERY friendly receptionist who was literally the highlight of the stay. Well. To be fair. All the staff are great. Cleaners left this place spotless.
Unfortunately that's where the good news ends.
This hotel has no air conditioning and the windows open a few inches. So expect to try and sleep in the Sahara desert.
One of the staff members pre opened all the windows and switched the desk fan on to try and help. Which again was greatly appreciated. But sadly this really didn't bring the temperature down.
In terms of the beds. The mattress is really solid. And the pillows didn't provide much support for me. Felt like teddy stuffing in the pillows.
There's a basic TV in the room which was fine. But there's no outlets by the bed. So no using your phone by the bed unless you expect to get up and charge it before you fall asleep.
All in all a poor hotel. But if customer service is your think. Then 👌. The fuel is quite cheap round here too. A co op was selling petrol at 1.66. Considering the other ones have been 2.05+. That's a nice thing.

A quiet, convenient Travelodge with super friendly staff. Dog friendly, clean and comfortable bed. Thee shower had great water pressure and the bathroom generally was everything you could need on a long road trip.

What can I say ...... extremely disappointed
This travelodge needs complete refurbishment. Carpets bordering on unacceptable and wouldn't walk on them with bare feet. Bed uncomfortable due to mattress being lumpy and "thin". Overall decor very very tired. Travelodge should be ashamed of charging the amount that they do for an offering such as this
