A great friendly and well priced hotel & restaurant. Eight of us [men] had a fantastic weekend using the Grand Hotel as our base to watch the local 'Race of the South' motorcycle road racing. All the staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our three day stay. Particular mention goes to Caroline, the restaurant supervisor, who provided excellent service...

Stayed here for one night on a road trip around ancient Ireland. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean and bright and the food in the carvery was good. With P. Egans pub down the road for a drop of the black stuff and live music too, it was a very pleasant stay.

Three stars only because only a review of the carvery. Didn't stay in the hotel but it looks fine. The carvery food was very good and we got plenty of food at a reasonable price. Would definitely go back. Wasn't obvious where to queue or pay. In the end just walked up to one of the servers and asked. good...

Great breakfast, the rooms were spacious, clean along with the restrooms. The hotel is centrally located in the center of town and several pubs and restaurants are located nearby. As previously mentioned the breakfast was great, but we didn't eat in the hotel during our stay.

My review is based purely on a bad dining experience. Don't know what the hotel is like. Stopped off with my elderly parents to sample the carvery. Both my parents were raving about it so I was looking forward to it. On arrival we were brashly informed the carvery was finished but were informed there was a bar food menu. It...

8 of us had steaks here one evening last week. All enjoyed them and the T bones were especially good and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was very attentive and had a great sense of humour. Wine was ok but I felt slightly overpriced. Would recommend it especially if you are hungry as portion size is generous.

Having a long history of enjoying good food here over the years we travelled to Moate with intentions of enjoying a family Carvery Sunday last. On arrival it was clear there were more staff than customers however their presence was not put to best use in my opinion. Three staff members stood behind the carvery area which had no menu...

First of all I want to express my disappointment about your unfortunate experience last Sunday. It was a culmination of several factors, most notably the manager on duty was taken ill a couple of hours into lunch and had to go home and the fact that it was the busiest day in the carvery since Mothers Day with over 500...
