- lmcc712794 contributionsPolgoon Vineyard wine tour - excellentWine tour and tasting at Polgoon with tour guide, Bronwen. Bronwen, very knowledgeable and informative about this small, family run business. 5 Polgoon wines to taste included in tour price. All very good. Especially enjoyed Polgoon Sauvignon blanc and Sparkling Pinot Noir. Cafe and shop both worth a visit. Shop has excellent selection of Polgoon wines, ciders, juices etc plus locally supplied produce including jams, chutneys, cheeses, chocolates etc Highly recommend. Excellent tour plus book for lunch before tour or afternoon tea after. Really enjoyable afternoon. Thank you.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 21 March 2024
- Daisy M2 contributionsAmazing! Our experience at Polgoon was absolutely incredible! We started with a tour led by Bronwyn who was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the vineyard's history and winemaking process. The real star of the show (besides the wine, of course!) was the pizza. We opted for the Pepperoni pizza and it was phenomenal. The crust was perfectly cooked, the toppings were fresh and flavorful, and it paired beautifully with the wines we were tasting. It was the perfect way to end a delightful afternoon. Overall, our experience at Polgoon was outstanding. We can't recommend it highly enough! Whether you're a wine connoisseur or just looking for a relaxing afternoon with delicious food and drink, this vineyard is a must-visit.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 10 May 2024
- donnalou82Newark-on-Trent, United Kingdom12 contributionsPerfect ‘afternoon out’ destinationExcellent first visit to Polgoon Vineyard. We had a lovely lunch of freshly made pizza which was excellent quality and great value for money. Staff were tentative and friendly and the outdoor seating area is stunning- had a lovely feel. We did a tour of the vineyard with Bronwyn as our tour guide and we felt the tour was very interesting and informative. Made us appreciate the wine process! Bronwyn’s knowledge was excellent she gave a great tour and answered questions with ease. The wine tasting was really good and I even found myself a red which I actually liked. Bronwyn’s knowledge on the wines she served was top notch and she clearly knew her wines. Will definetly be returning later in the season to see the vines in their later stages- and for some more lovely food and wine! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who’s visiting on their holidays or even locals who want a lovely setting for a nice meal out. Well done guys for creating a lovely day out for me and my hubby:) 5stars from us :)Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 July 2024
- Lagardo007Birmingham, United Kingdom37 contributionsA Little GemReally enjoyed our afternoon at Polgoon - very friendly staff who are clearly passionate about their work. Lunch at the restaurant preceded our guided tour and wine tasting. Crab sandwiches for lunch were fresh and tasty but the pizzas on offer looked very tempting. Our tour was interesting and informative, largely due to the knowledge and passion of our guide. A little gem!Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 July 2024
- Nat BBristol, United Kingdom3 contributionsFantastic drinks and service!Everything about our visit was absolutely perfect. We tasted a selection of all of the wines, the white wines in particular were phenomenal. The surprise stand out however for us was the cider. Mille our host expertly listed off the types of apples used, and because of her it convinced us to buy a big bag and box for home! The food was also very nice (especially the pizza), and Jord (I'm sorry I think I misheard your name when you told us I'm a bit deaf) was incredibly friendly and a joy to chat to. Overall, our experience was amazing and I can't recommend it highly enough!Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 24 August 2024
