A hidden gem in a glorious setting.
We lucked out with a glorious morning at Tanglewood. Our 3 year old daughter loved it down there, with plenty to see and do. Everywhere you look there is something quirky to catch your eye. We had some really nice coffee and the Chocolate chip rainbow cake was a big hit. The owners were very friendly and enjoyed a chat! We'll be back again very soon 👍🏻

Lovely garden - great for younger kids, tea/coffee, very friendly and helpful people
Lovely wild garden, particularly for younger children - lots to engage their imaginations. Tea/coffee/cake provided. Special mention for the service - I was having trouble with data signal for figuring out my next bus and the lady there (whose name I've forgotten - sorry!) was incredibly helpful and lovely. Recommend this highly.

    A hidden gem
What a peach of a place, quiet and a haven from the madding crowd. We picked a sunny day so it was a real treat. Quirky yet calming, the home made Cake Hut victoria sponge was simply devine. Thank you for a lovely time.

Penryn Camera Club loved the experience!
Penryn Camera Club visited 6th July. We all had a great day and enjoyed the wildlife garden. We hope to get some good shots which we can share with you. We got lost getting to you due to our silly Sat nav but we all felt it was worth the trip especially for the delicious tea and cake! Many thanks for a truly unique trip! Highly recommended!

Beautiful Hidden Gem with lots to explore
We love Tanglewood!! These gardens are beautiful, relaxing & charming! There is something new to explore around every corner. There are games and treasures to keep children entertained; from tyre swings, to giant chess & hidden statues! The ducks are super friendly and even ate from our hand. The cake from the cake hut was yummy and tea in a real mug!! I really can’t recommend this place enough- it is a real hidden gem. My 8 year old son told me today (whilst lying on a net in the trees), “This place makes my heart happy”. That says it all 💕

  • Morrab Gardens Hotels
Morrab Gardens is a public park, with luxuriant sub-tropical planting established over many years, in the centre of Penzance. The quality of a public space gives a strong impression of an area. It is part of what gives a town its identity, and local residents a sense of civic pride. By the late nineteenth century, Penzance had become a popular seaside resort and required a park for visitors’ recreation. To this end, Penzance Corporation acquired Morrab House, along with its grounds, in 1888 for £3,120. The villa was leased by Penzance Private Library and the gardens were designed and set out to the scheme of paths and borders which can be seen to this day. When the Gardens were established, in the 1880s, unlike today there were no nurseries selling exotic plants, the original planting was the result of gifts from local estates.
