Basilica de la Sagrada Familia is a church devoted to the Holy Family. One of Antoni Gaudi’s most famous works, the church is perhaps best known for still being under construction since 1882—with works funded purely by donations. Take a lift to the top of the towers for a panoramic view of the city and marvel at the ornate architecture. The nativity facade and crypt have also been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Status. Skip the line with a pre-booked tour with tower access, or combine your visit with another of Gaudi's work, Parc Guell. – Tripadvisor

- Joe Cahayla83 contributionsDefinitely a Must See in BarcelonaThe Basilica was awesome and I am so glad we he had an experienced guide with our small group of five. I had spent two hours on my phone Saturday trying to get tickets for a Sunday tour. It was not easy and it was expensive, but I could not consider being in Barcelona and not seeing the Sagrada. If you plan to go definitely, book well in advance. A little secret, you can go on Sunday at 8:30 for mass and it is free, assuming you are among the fist 800 in line. It is magnificent with a lot of hidden symbols and meanings. Pictures cannot do it justice.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 September 2023
- JenniferEllijay, Georgia202 contributionsA MUST when in Barcelona! The church is absolutely breathtaking. This is a do not miss landmark in Barcelona. We did do a guided walking tour to the church and around but a self guided (there are recorded prompts throughout with loads of information) through the interior. Top ten most beautiful buildings I have ever visited.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 21 September 2023
- RoyaltyCCalgary, Canada409 contributionsA beautyI booked the tour well in advance. Got the ticket with audio guide. I went on a Thursday which was still very busy. The basilica is an architectural marvel from the outside to the inside. If I'm lucky enough to be able to return to Barcelona, I will come back to see this. My hotel was 20 minute walk and I can see the Sagrada Familia from its rooftop. What a treasure.Visited August 2023Travelled soloWritten 22 September 2023
- Damien SAdelaide, Australia6,542 contributionsNice inside the churchThe place does cost a bit, make sure you go to the official site to get them. You come at the time you have been allocated then a quick security check and you are in. We went on a Saturday morning, did not need to wait we were straight through then inside the main church. The inside is stunning and well presented. Lots not see and do. There are toilets and other amenities as needed. 30-45 mins is really all you need to see the main church. Amazing photos to take.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 September 2023
- ChrisUxbridge, United Kingdom2 contributionsAn awesome sight and beautiful experience. Book direct online, no queues, no paying through the noseAfter doing some research we booked a date and time online directly at sagradafamilia.org. They have an English language option and only 26€ per person, which includes a timed entry ticket and audio commentary downloaded via the official Sagrada Familia app. When we got there the only queues were for people who hadn’t bought tickets so we were able to go pretty much straight in within 5 minutes. The Sagrada Familia itself is literally awe-some both out and in, and the frequent signs and audio commentary in English gave us all the information we needed about this special place, it’s architect and it’s history. One hint. When you exit the building you can easily continue to exit the whole site thinking that you’ve seen everything, but if you bear left towards the gift shop you will see the entrance to the underneath of the cathedral and a whole lot more to discover.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 September 2023
- TOURtheWORLDMexPalUnited States3,098 contributionsA must see, Inside, not just outsideThis is a must see attraction in Barcelona. (Dan Brown Fans: Do not miss it). I highly recommend a guided tour and must book way in advance. You can skip the Nativity tower. It is just a view of the city from the small windows on the narrow tower steps. I do not think it is worth it at all. Check the details about this tower before you book or take the elevator, the steps are challenging.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 September 2023
- AdamNepean, Canada11 contributionsA must see regardless of religious backgroundBreath taking architecture accompanied by an audio guide which did a great job of storytelling the history of the basilica. You can see it from afar from most areas around the city but once up close you really start to appreciate it’s beauty. The gift shop was a bit overpriced but had many options to support further development. A must see regardless of your religious followingVisited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 September 2023
- RazorfishLittle Rock, Arkansas5,287 contributionsSurrealistically beautifulMy wife and I visited Barcelona this past November for a Viking ocean cruise. We flew in early so we could tour the Sagrada Familia. However, our flight was delayed in Madrid and we missed our scheduled time to enter the basilica. We went by the next morning on an excursion. I would describe it as surrealistically beautiful. I asked about a refund and was told to apply online on the website. I received a refund by sending in my boarding passes showing the delay in my flights that prevented us from arriving in time for our reserved time of entry. We enjoyed seeing the Gaudi designs on the exterior of the edifice. We were hoping to see the interior, but maybe we can see it when it is completed in a few years.Visited November 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 October 2023
- Peter W12 contributionsYou must see the insideThe location was extremely crowded both times we visited. If you do not see the interior you have missed 80 percent of what there is to see - the exterior is "odd" in a nice way, but the interior is amazing! Try to go on a sunny day to get the best from the stained glass. If you book to go up the tower be aware that there is an elevator up, but you can only come down via 400 very tight and narrow spiral stairs.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 October 2023
- elawson634 contributionsFavorite sight in SpainMy favorite thing to do in Spain. If you aren't Christian, you'll still marvel at the construction. If you are, this is a pilgrimage. Get the first tour of the day (and the first tower availability) and then get there 10 minutes early. We came in with a hundred people and managed to get inside after a few minutes. (The audio tour is amazing and gives you some insight into the building outside the front doors first.) By the time we left, it was a crush of people. It's amazing. Awe inspiring. And you can't describe it for others. You just have to see it for yourself.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 October 2023
