Beamish wow , just wow 🤩
Wow , amazing place , took my very inquisitive 7 year old , every single member of staff had extensive knowledge of the time periods and the mines and couldn’t be more friendly, happy to answer questions and give demonstrations, we did have to make a return trip the day after just because it had so much to see and do we ran out of time on day 1 but the pay once and get free entry for a year was beneficial or I would have happily paid again . So much for all ages and loads of benches to rest your legs or catch the free old buses and trams that are very regular and take you to each separate village , loads of toilets and even better dogs are allowed ( not in the actual houses and museums though ) but so many walking about enjoying the day , highly recommend the iced fingers in the bakery and the Turkish delight ice cream , the only downside ( which was very superficial) was queues to the fish and chip shop and also the confectionery shop but was worth the wait . All round one of the best places for a day out in the uk

One of the best museums in the UK
Beamish is easily one of the best museums in the United Kingdom. We travelled 1.5 hours to visit having wanted to for many years and it was well worthwhile. We all thoroughly enjoyed the visit, stayed here for 4+ hours, had amazing ice cream and loved every minute! It’s well worth the money, especially given the fact you can return as much as you want for a year which we will be doing in the coming months.

Lots of walking but plenty to see.Dont worry if you're not up to walking far there are vintage busses and trams that you can jump on and off. There are two fish shops a pub, bakery and 2 cafes.Tgese can get busy so maybe a good idea to take a packed lunch.Loads of seats and lots of toilets. Very nice place Very interesting and informative. The museum is set out side.

    Great family place
Avid Beamish fans here! For over 12 years we have been annual ticket holders. We visit at least 4 times per year with our children and discover something new every time. The expansion of the 1950s town is amazing and bustling! Can't wait for the cinema to open. Well done Beamish, for keeping history present and popular.

    Great entertainment
Visited Beamish in March and thought it was a well put together attraction. You can catch a old fashioned bus or tram to get you round the attraction as it’s well spread out. The actors play a great part and keep you informed about life in whatever period you are visiting. There’s a good cafeteria and a shop selling fish and chips. There’s a bakery and sweet shop which got really busy. It was well worth a visit and somewhere I’d go back to.

Amazing day out for the whole family
This place is outstanding. Spent the whole day and still didn’t get to see it all, we’ll be back to enjoy the rest of the site. Well laid out with great transport by an old team of bus or take the opportunity to walk the site and get those steps up!! We had lunch in the Tea Rooms near the bandstand. Very authentic feeling about the restaurant with the most amazing food at great value. We had the “Hodge podge pie” and it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Around the site various buildings were manned by extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff and really made you feel you’d stepped back in time. It’s a fantastic day out and you can return as many times as you like in the year after your visit at no cost.

    Brilliant day out!
Been hoping to visit here for a good while and finally got the chance this weekend! Definitely worth the trip. So much to see and so many details to catch the eye. The staff we encountered were brilliant. They told us lots of facts and were friendly and welcoming. Real assets. Absolutely loved the 1950’s village. It’s going to look amazing once it’s all complete. We were there 5 hours and still didn’t get to see it all but the ticket gets you afford the year so we’ll definitely return. Only tiny gripe was the long queue/wait in the tearoom for service…soup was cold by the time we got served but they seemed understaffed so sure it’s a one off. Looking forward to returning.

    A must do visit.
We cannot fault the experience all the staff at the museum were amazing so knowledgeable helpful and informative. We had planned to have a day but ended up 2 days as there was so much to see and do. All of the different villages and towns are set out beautifully and connected by walk ways, tram or busses. Set in a breathtaking landscape. Look forward to returning someday soon. We cannot recommend this enough as must do experience.

    Good Friday Easter trail
I love visiting Beamish. On this visit we add my 6 year old and we did the Easter trail. We had to find the decorated eggs within each area following clues on the card we were given at the entrance. Some were quite tricky to find so make sure you look in the cabinets! Once you collected all 12 , which wasn't easy, you got a gold stamp.. we were a little underwhelmed by this. But a good day out non the less.

Great day out at wonderful Beamish
This place is amazing, a great day out for all ages, I took my grandsons aged 12 and 9, they love history and hearing about the ‘good old days’ so Beamish was the place to go. Travel through the 1820’s the 1930’s the 50’s too, take the bus, or the tram, stop off in the different eras and sample a sticky bun in the bakery, fish and chips in Dave’s, or afternoon tea in the tea rooms. My boys absolutely loved the Artist Norman Cornish’s house, and amazing man, he was a miner and an artist, the ladies Bev and Jackie were just lovely, my 9yr old is very socially anxious but Bev really put him at ease and actually got him making his own sketch pad and drawing in it, these two ladies are wonderful with the children , we spent most of our afternoon here sat in front of a roaring fire in the hearth of the 1930’s house. Very well worth a visit highly recommend a day out at beamish there is also a fairground with swing boats, a carousel and helter skelter that the boys loved. 10/10 from me and my boys
