Our guide gave us so much information in an interesting and humorous manner. The tour really gave us a much better appreciation than if we had just wandered around by ourselves. The highlight was the gold pour. Highly recommend the tour.

We recently visited the Perth Mint and what an enlightening experience it was! Although there is a fee for the tour, it's absolutely worth every penny and a must to see past the gift shop. The tour itself was brilliantly structured, offering a comprehensive insight into the world of gold, from historical nuggets to the modern minting process. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the massive gold coin – it's not every day you get to see such a spectacle! Equally captivating was the live gold pouring demonstration, where we witnessed the transformation of molten gold into a solid bar. This was both educational and mesmerizing, especially for the kids. Speaking of the kids, mine, aged 11 and 12, were thoroughly engaged throughout the visit. The array of old coins and various gold nuggets piqued their curiosity and offered a hands-on history lesson. It’s always a pleasure to see them enjoying and learning at the same time. Additionally, the staff at the Mint were not just knowledgeable, but also very hospitable. One of them recommended a pub just down the road for lunch, and it turned out to be a fantastic suggestion – great food in an air condition setting

This was fun. Paul was an excellent and entertaining guide. The loss of one star is due to the lack of available toilets - just one, in the gate house as you enter. But the gold pour was really interesting. Definitely worth a visit!

This was a nice find. We are visiting from the US and had recently arrived by train from Sydney. One of the other guests on the train suggested we visit the mint and we are glad we did. The staff was amazing...I'm sorry I didn't get the lady's name, but when we stopped by 3 hours early to ask about a local tourist map she offered to move our tour up to the one departing in 15 minutes! We had also asked for some lunch recommendations, specifically brewpubs. She had to think about it a bit (and had other customers) but as we entered later for the tour she handed us two. notes with details on two places she recommended. The tour itself was very interesting. Oscar was our guide and was very knowledgeable, funny at times and seemed to enjoy his work. He definitely kept everyone's interest all the way through. The displays and gold pour were also very interesting; I came away feeling a little bit smarter about the gold rush and historical events in Australia's gold industry. Well done!
