Easy to send parcels & postcards! (See below)
For tourism: Lovely & very charming old post office, beautiful architecture and good for photos. I’d absolutely recommend sending a postcard home! (! Please remember- bring your own pen, they charge you to use them if you don’t have one!) You can buy postcards inside the post office for as little as 5,000 and most of them being 30,000dong. Write your postcard out, visit the woman with the stamps (she was the last counter on the right hand side for us) dab them on the wet sponge & pop the postcard in the overflowing basket on the counter. ( it cost about £2 to send each postcard to the UK- 3 stamps need to go onto 1 postcard) For sending parcels overseas: Seems overwhelming at first but is very straight forward, we had been collecting things along our travels and needed to send it home to free up space. We took a big bag of things to the post office, headed straight to the back of the room (to the picture of Ho Chi Minh) where you will find a counter called ‘parcel and items packaging’- you need to fill out forms of what it inside, the quantity and the value of the items, the bag will be weighed & packaged ready to go. As of Oct 2023 we send a parcel around 6.8kg and it cost us around 4 million dong ( about £130) The staff were so helpful & their English is brilliant.

    can get crowded
Visited here on Dec-27,2023 and explored. Outside this post office are many road side stalls selling card cut out art pieces, traditional hats etc. Saw multiple hop on hop off buses stopping here for some time. Inside are souvenir stalls in the perimeter and benches for visitors to sit etc. A portrait of Ho Chi Minh himself adorns the rear wall of this post office.

    Worth seeing when exploring HCMC.
Here’s a reminder of how important post and telecommunications services were in the last century, especially during colonial times when Europeans were dispatched halfway across the world. The building itself is impressive, making a statement in the government quarter. While the interior has preserved phone booths and post office counters where you can send letters by old fashioned snail mail it’s essentially a big souvenir shop with stalls selling all sorts. Handy to see price tickets to base your bargaining on as you continue your travels.

    Really a beautiful place
Saigon Central Post Office is a post office located in the downtown area of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It was constructed between 1886 and 1891 when Vietnam was part of French Indochina. The building was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and is often erroneously credited as being the work of Gustave Eiffel or a collaboration between Foulhoux and Hanoi-based Auguste Henri Vildieu. The building is a tourist attraction and counts with Gothic, Renaissance, and French influences. The Saigon Central Post Office is located near the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the city’s cathedral. You get all the souvenirs, lots of things like paintings & a variety of beautiful artefacts of Vietnam. A place to visit if anyone is in Hochiming City.

    Beautiful edifice from colonial era
Central post office is one of the most remarkable buildings in Saigon, along with the Opera House, Rex Hotel and few others dating back to colonial era. This iconic post office with huge Ho Chi Minh portrait on the opposite side dates back to late 19c, when it was built by French as a main channel of communication in these days. It's located next door, to the right from the main twin tower Notre Dame Cathedral. It's open daily and pretty busy with both, locals and tourists.

An amazing historical building and popular stop off for tours - can get busy but well worth a visit
The Central Post Office in Saigon / Ho Chi Minh City is an amazing historical building and a popular stop off for tours, indeed I visited as part of a cruise ship excursion to Vietnam and we had around 20 minutes here to pop in and take photos. You could easily spend more time as the building houses not just an operating post office but also many market stalls with gifts and magnets at very decent prices. Our guide said the building was built by Gustave Eiffel's company in the late 1880s but it turns out that it was actually built around the designs of another French architect, Alfred Foulhoux. It's one of the top tourist attractions in the city and can be visited at the same time as the Notre-Dame Basilica and the Opera House (both are located close to here). It's free to enter and well worth having a look inside if visiting central Saigon.

    Be careful with your possesions
I went here because the church was closed. My friend and I just visited around outside the post office to take photo but it's really crowded. I took photos for my friend and left my phone in the front basket of our bike (which we rented). And when we took photo this man took my phone. We freaked out whe we found out that the phone disappeared. And the man showed up, told us that he saw some guy took the phone and run away. He asked us for some money and he would call the guy. This sounded really suspicious so we asked if he took our phone. We even offered to give him money to return it. After a while, he asked us which brand of our phone. When he knew that it's not that valuable. He gave us back, and yelled at us for being careless. Well, w were adsolutely careless when leaving the phone in the basket like that. But this man was unbelievable. Please be careful when you visit HCM City Still rate 5/5 for the post office

Historical elegant post office in Saigon
This is a post office constructed by the French. Open daily until 6 except on Sundays where it closes at 5 pm. Beautiful interior, and it is impressive that in addition to many commercial booths inside, a part of it serves actually as a post office. You will find a section where people sit on wooden benches writing up postcards to be sent to their special ones. Free entry, and worth a visit!

On your guided tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, you’ll learn about the history of this underground system. The tunnels were dug during the Vietnam War by Viet Cong soldiers as a way to move undetected and launch surprise attacks. Experience the tight squeeze firsthand by crawling through the tunnels, and fire assault rifles at the shooting range after. Pack bug spray and dress for hot and humid weather, arriving earlier in the day to beat the crowds and the afternoon sun. It's not recommended to visit the tunnels after a downpour, as the area will get very muddy.
