    Worth stopping by
I unexpectedly had some free time in the morning of my last day in Luxor, so I decided to take a taxi over to the Luxor museum - and I'm glad I did. It's a relatively small museum that's focused on artifacts found in Luxor Temple. If you happen to have a couple hours available, take a tour of this museum. It's also a great way to escape the heat.

    Beautiful Exhibits and Friendly Staff
It has various statues on display as you enter this museum. It also has a small room where the mummy of a king is on display. Entrance fee here is 200 EGP. Displayed also here are the findings of the excavation project. Outside area: Infront of this museum are benches facing the Nile River. This is a perfect area to see the River, the West Side of Luxor, the boats, etc.

Highly recommend visiting in the evening
Fabulous museum. We visited in the evening around 6pm and was lovely and quiet and peaceful. The building itself is also interesting as well as the amazing artefacts it houses. Conveniently located opposite the river walkway

    Superb museum
The museum is modern and welcoming. The art exposed is obviously incredible. The setting of the sculptures and artefacts is extremely well done. Also this museum is not overwhelming the visitors with thousands of exhibits but focuses of key pieces which are in synch with Karnak and Luxor temple. To be recommended absolutely to all visitors.

A brilliant museum that’s quieter than it should be
There were some beautiful statues in amazing condition in this quiet museum right on the Nile corniche. There were basic descriptions of all artefacts which helped with understanding. There were also some old coins, pottery, weapons, and glass objects but the main highlight for me was being able to see statues up close - the one of tuthmosis 3 especially incredible. Entrance fee was 300EGP when we visited & tickets can be bought with card at the entrance. We spent about 1 hour in total.

    Worth a Visit
Great museum, really worth a visit. The displays are dust-free and well cared for. If you have been to the temples and tombs near Luxor, this museum showcases the statuary and artefacts that were excavated from those locations. We went in the evening and it was much cooler.

    Don't Miss the Luxor Museum!
One of the best museums we visited in a trip to Egypt filled with marvelous museums. The Luxor Museum has a superb collection of art and artifacts that are beautifully displayed. The explanatory information is also first-rate; we learned a great deal about pharaonic civilization that we had not known before. Thanks to the museum, too, for allowing non-flash photos. This museum is a must before visiting the astounding Luxor sites. An added bonus: the gift shop has excellent reproductions and local wares.

    Museums have the best stuff
The museum is situated on the Corniche near the Luxor Temple. It is cool and uncluttered and has a modern feel. It is well signposted in English and Arabic and has beautiful statues found at Thebes (Luxor). While you can see amazing things at Karnak and Luxor some of the extraordinary statues have been moved to museums in Cairo and here where they can be protected. There are two floors and one includes two mummies. Non-flash photos are allowed. This museum is closed in the middle of the day - visit early or late. We visited around 6 to 7 pm and it was uncrowded. We often pre-arranged guided tours in Egypt, this visit we went by ourselves and everything went smoothly. We walked from our hotel along the Corniche, paid for our ticket and enjoyed our time here at our leisure.

    Beautiful statues and preserved colors
The museum has many statues beautifully displayed and art from the surrounding temples. Details in the statues and colors in the art are stunning. The museum gift shop has a nice selection with fixed prices that seem fair. The museum is also air conditioned, a relief in the 40+ C summer heat.

Add this museum to your itinerary in Luxor. Worth to visit
It is a medium-sized museum situation just a few minutes walk from Luxor and Karnak Temple on the East Bank. The artifacts displayed has captions of the historical background which is very educational. The status of the Egyptian Kings & Queens are very well-maintained and protected by the Organization. There are some collections in the museum that are not displayed in some of the museum in Cairo
