Beautiful garden, so much to see
I'd previously visited the orchid garden so wanted to explore more of the botanical gardens. They are immense such a beautiful place for walking and chilling out. I saw quite a bit of wildlife around and spent time watching the otters in the lake. Good signage all over and clean toilets I booked a taxi back at the visitor services.

A green oasis in the heart of Singapore
The Singapore Botanic Gardens is a lush oasis in the heart of the bustling city, offering visitors a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life. This sprawling green space is home to a diverse range of flora, captivating sculptures, and iconic structures such as the Bandstand. One of the Gardens’ most endearing features is its commitment to education. Throughout the year, the Gardens host a variety of educational talks and workshops that cater to both children and adults. These informative sessions cover topics such as plant conservation, horticulture, and ecology, making for a fun and engaging learning experience.

A brilliant place to chill out and have a leisurely walk around!
So tranquil, not crowded, open late, free of charge. A perfect place to chill, have a long walk or take your family to spend a few hours. Wild life could be spotted too - the lakes have small and giant black fish and turtles in it, roosters and hens walk around, small squirrels are everywhere - so very adorable to watch!

    Lovely spot for a stroll
The sprawling, lush, gorgeous, and central botanic gardens of Singapore is a must for anyone who loves: green, walking, orchids*, birds, and/or fresh air! Located just past the western end of downtown's Orchard Road, you can easily walk from the northwest part of the botanic gardens and onto Tanglin/Orchard in about an hour. En route you'll pass myriad trees and plants offering shaded glimpses into the medicines, foods, and other uses endemic to the area. There are cafes and educational centres within the park, and numerous access points to enter/exit. Highly recommended. *NOTE: While the park itself is free to enter and stroll, the orchid garden has a fee to enter.

    Go early to avoid heat
We arrived around 10am but it wasn't early enough to avoid the heat. Ignore the information at the entrance which tells you you need to book into the free guided tour at a visitor centre. You can't, so just go to the orchid garden where you buy your ticket and book in 15 minutes before the free tour. They're on 10am, 11am and 4pm atm. Highly recommended as it's a bit of a rabbit warren, but if you're on a tour, you'll see everything and won't get lost. Entry for a senior is only $3, which is a bargain. The gardens are lovely, but very spread out, but the heat and humidity got to us, so we left around 1pm.

    Wonderful mature gardens
What a find. A wonderful walk through mature trees and well maintained gardens. The orchid gardens are $15 per adult but well worth it. Stunning display. Also well worth having lunch in Halia. See separate review.

    Beautiful
These really are absolutely stunningly beautiful gardens. Although a bit out of the city, well worth a visit. The Orchid garden is amazing and also worth a visit. Great place for birdwatching too. 2 hours here saw the following Long Tailed Parakeet, Olive Winged Bulbul, Yellow Vented Bulbul, Scarlet Backed Flowerpecker, Spotted Dove, Pink Necked Green Pigeon, Brush Cuckoo, Common Myna, Common Flameback, Oriental Magpie Robin

Beautiful setting so close to the city
We spent 3-4 hours here and loved it. There is no entrance fee and the gardens are very lovely, spacious and well maintained. There is an orchid garden for which there is a small charge but so well worth it. Could have stayed longer but it was too hot and humid! Though enjoyed a nice cold drink in one of the outlets.

    Fantastic gardens
We took the MRT which goes to Botanic Garden Station on blue and orange lines..,very quick and easy. Superb paths and trains throughout this amazing place.. quite vast so you’ll need lots of time to see it all.. We walked a lot of it and really enjoyed the experience. The lake area was nice and lots of turtles were east to see and watch.. There is no access fee here to walk the area and enjoy it. Once to the National Orchid Garden there is a fee to get in, truly a highlight here and not to be missed..
