It was great to have everything arranged from start to finish on my overnight (2day) tour to Meteora. The staff were very friendly, especially tour guides Jimi (sunset tour) and Evangoulo (half day hike) and driver Sotos. Travelling solo, they always made me feel included and valued. It was a shame that because of flood damage the trains weren’t running, but the coach trip was fine, and we got back to Athens around half an hour early, which was great! The hotel was not flash, but comfortable and clean. I highly recommend Visit Meteora 😊

Fantastic experience. We did the hiking tour and we’re told it was about 5 miles total. It was very well split up with stops to explain things and take pictures, so even though we went up a lot it didn’t really feel very hard (which was fine by me.) The way down was a bit tricker with steps and stones but easily doable. Pictures were amazing. Such a great experience and nice to be away from the crowds for the entire time except while at the monastery. Would def recommend.

We, a group of 8 friends, booked a private half-day tour from Visit Meteora. It was perfect. The guide was knowledgeable, spoke excellent English, answered questions thoroughly and thoughtfully, and was an amusing and entertaining raconteur. We visited three monasteries and took several other stops for views and photos, and the scenery and monasteries were absolutely breathtaking. We also hired one in-monastery guide, who was not as good as our overall Visit-Meteora guide, but it was certainly worth the extra cost.

We took both the sunset tour and the hiking tour. Our guides were experts on the history, geology, and the flora and fauna and etymology of Metorea. Their love for the region was genuine. It was a very fun way to explore Metorea. Martha 10/23

Katherina is an amazing local guide whose personal experience and anecdotes make this tour unique. The sunset was breathtaking and we also enjoyed the visit to the beautiful church. We travel the world and have met dozens of guides but nobody like Katherina.

Maria was such a fantastic guide, she kept it humorous yet so informative. The accommodations due to flooding affecting the train were also such a good compromise, a comfy ride. Absolutely would recommend as a must-see if visiting Greece. A spectacular experience.

We did the half day tour in the am and it was great. We were picked up in front of our hotel in Kalambaka and there were only 6 total on the tour. We started on time and our tour guide was great. He had a great sense one humour and was open to our many questions regarding Meteora, Kalambaka and Greece. We would definitely recommend this tour. The minivan was comfortable and the driver was good.

We booked the two day tour that included transportation to/from Athens, a sunset tour of Meteora, a night at a hotel in Kalambaka, and a half day tour the next morning. Visit Meteora was well organized, the tour guides and drivers professional, and the reservations department prompt to answer questions over email. While we, and probably most travelers, would have preferred the train ride, the company replacement bus was comfortable and the ride went faster than we thought. On the second day, it rained. In the few days leading up, we were watching the weather forecasts and thought rain might ruin the trip. However, it was a blessing in disguise as the rain brought fog that transformed the valley. The ethereal mist swept through the rocks and monasteries, views changing by the minute. It looked like something out of a fairy tale. After the half day tour that ended around 1pm, we found ourselves just killing time, waiting for the bus ride back at 5:30pm. We wish we could have returned to Athens earlier or had some other activity to fill that time. All in all though, it was well worth the trip.

Wonderful tour! An easy way to see three of the amazing monasteries and the incredible views. The fog on the day we toured was not ideal but we did make it seem that we were in a mystical place. Dimitri, our tour guide, was excellent and has a great sense of humor. Our bus driver was terrific as well!

While passing through Athens, a friend suggested I visit Meteora Greece! It was a last-minute booking, and I'm very delighted we got spots with "Visit Meteora"! Vasilis, the tour guide, is knowledgable and cool, offering a wealth of information on the history of the monasteries and the Kalabaka hamlet and patiently answering questions. Furthermore, he was the photographer who is skilled at photographing everyone and recommending the most gorgeous angles. It's a great day, and the sights are breathtaking! Big thank you to the guide tour and the driverI definitely recommend it!
