    Good shopping!
We enjoyed our time browsing around the Old Market District. We were fortunate that it was within walking distance of our hotel and it was nice to have it nearby. We spent one afternoon browsing the shops—there were so many fun local shops and local products, which we appreciated. We grabbed dinner at the Spaghetti Works, which is right in the Old Market District. It’s definitely worth planning a couple of hours, at least, to wander around this charming neighborhood if you find yourself in Omaha!

Great area of the city, lots of places to eat and little shops.
Great historic area with shops and lots of places for eating and drinking, cobblestone roads (don't wear heels, elderly beware!). Parking was very affordable. Staying at the Hyatt was a great location and it's a decent hotel, clean with no issues. I can imagine this place is very busy in the summer, In late October it was quite but all the shops seemed to still be open. I took off the one star only because of the homeless issues this area seems to be plagued with. It makes it less desireable of an area because of it and older reviews from as far back as 2015 suggest this has been a long going problem.

Best place in the city for dining
This is an outstanding location to walk around and dine which is very lively at night. Several high-end restaurants are located here and it’s definitely the place to go for lunch or dinner. Given that most of the restaurants are high end, it is recommended that reservations were made

    Timeless Charm in Every Corner
Old Market is a charming blend of history and modernity. Its cobblestone streets are lined with eclectic shops, cozy cafes, and vibrant street performers. The lively atmosphere and unique finds make it a must-visit destination for those seeking a taste of the past with a contemporary twist.

    Check It Out
We walked around to check out the area on a mid-morning Saturday before having our lunch and were pleasantly surprised. They had a weekend market that was in full swing with plenty of local vendors, snacks, performers, etc. Great spot for people watching. I would definitely recommend that you stop in if you have the time.

    Great place
We flew in from Michigan to see John Melloncamp at the Orpheum theater. Never been to Nebraska, never wanted to. Friends razzed us for wasting our time coming here. Well let me tell you, Omaha is a great place. Shopping, restaurants, parks, museums, we could not do or see everything in three days. The city is clean, feels very safe. Spread the word, Omaha is fun!

    Fun, Historical, Something for everyone
We literally went there every day during our stay and tried restaurants ranging from luxury to bargain, tourist to upscale. Spend some time in the huge park called Gene Leahy Mall (not a retail mall) at the Riverfront, which is adjacent to Old Market. We loved upscale V. Mertz restaurant in The Passage for a special event dinner. We also had meals at Jam's--touristy but lots of choices on the menu; Tupelo Honey, Southern inspired food with some modern touches; Twisted Fork Grill and Bar, also touristy but with great outside seating to enjoy the view. It's a fun place to walk, a renovated old warehouse and manufacturing district, and you can read about or ask about the history of the various buildings. Lots of security on weekend nights but we never felt unsafe walking.

Good for a few hours to visit
Plenty of places to eat and enjoy an adult beverage, but not a ton in the way of shopping. Some places are not open on Monday or Tuesday and several places don’t open up till the afternoon, so check hours of operation before you go. I recommend Upstate Brewing Company for a meal and beer flight while you watch a game. It is open 7 days a week and offered some of the best food we had while in Omaha! You can walk here from some of the hotels in the area, such as the Embassy Suites. The Old Candy shop just across from the Embassy Suites offers chocolates, jelly bellies and delicious soft serve ice cream.

When we back in town will definitely come back.
Great historic area! We enjoyed our time browsing around the Old Market District. Many boutiques, shops and galleries, restaurants and local pubs, cafes and jazz clubs make the Old Market a favorite stop when visiting Omaha. We walked around to check out the area for 2 hours before having our late lunch at Mouth Of The South - Old Market. Easy parking.
