the toilet had some pretty nasty stains.
for some reason, the architect decided to place the toilet right next to the bath (which had an unusually high gap). so you cant actually use the toilet without awkwardly contorting your body. bizarre.
there was mildew, moldy spores on shower curtain. as a result, I was unable to shower with the curtain closed.
note the cracked mirror and the decades old hair dryer with chicken-wire backing
The door of the room was in a very sorry state and looked like it has taken a beating over the years.

Response from Rob Howell, General Manager at The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort
Responded 21 Aug 2021
Dear Cole D. We are sorry about your experience at our resort. Please consider that this is not the experience of a majority of our guests. Again, I am by no means belittling your issues with the resort or the veracity of your review. Our resort was built in 1911 and the walls are 12-inch thick steel-reinforced concrete. There are varying sizes and this is listed on the website when you book. We have removed the wallpaper and carpet in 70% of our Inn rooms. I am sorry that you were unable to occupy one of these rooms. The fact that we are on the Delaware River, offer guided hiking, golf cart tours, campfires with S'mores, and many other activities as part of your stay - is a majority of the reason for the rate we must charge. We are working with the owners to finish many of the items necessary to improve our rooms and the guest experience. We are conveniently located. We are family-owned. The staff works tremendously hard. I am sorry about your experience. I believe that you may be able to have an exceptional experience at our resort and hope you will reach out. Thank you again and have a safe remainder of your summer.
