With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
There is really nothing here but an old London police box, but for long time fans of Dr. Who (Tom Baker was the best Doctor) its an awesome place to take a photo. I happened upon this as it was less than a mile from our hotel and is right in front of the Earls Court Underground stop.
These gardens are to be found in Kensington Gardens and are really beautiful. Ponds are full of water lilies with small fountains and a larger fountain at one end with large statues on each side..
Also a statue of Jenner, he of smallpox vaccine fame, looks a bit out of place here.
Mainly visited to see the Romanov- Russian display- which was good and free! Popped to see the impressive clocks display and the engines just past the entrance. All of it was good but I can't help thinking that the museum is less of a science museum but more of the History of Science museum. Great gift shop.
Maybe not as manic as Oxford Street or as posh as Sloane Square but a decent range of shops and food places it’s now got Tk Maxx and Whole foods the former welcome the later not really required as London has excellent supermarkets serving organic products but if you insist.
We had lunch on a Sunday to celebrate a special event. Our table was lovely - near the window. The menu was a delight - very nicely presented too. Our waiter kindly wrote down the list of cheese we had. We were grateful to the staff for the warm welcome and the high level of service. A 5* experience.
There are only a handful of tables here and customers order from the counter themselves. The French staff in this London restaurant quickly whip up and deliver the orders. The options were pretty standard for breakfast, but it was fast and well made.
It was raining cats and dogs as we made a special trip into the West End from the City on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was 75% full, but it was only 6pm.
We were led to a table which had high chairs on a wagamama style table which you can share with other guests. Other guests had proper tables...
I very recently visited here on a Groupon voucher, I went to the South Kensington branch.
I received a very friendly warm greeting from the staff and I chose my 2 pizzas.
I chose the spicy sausage and the ham ones, they warmed them in the oven, the base was crisp and infused with flavour and the topping was very...

I stayed at The Kensington this summer and had a wonderful time. The staff is more than friendly, they are attentive and display an incredible degree of professionalism at all times. Had several meals onsite, all of which were excellent. Breakfast in particular is fantastic. Great location, lots of little cafes, pubs, and restaurants in easy walking distance. V&A museum...
We stayed here on a trip to London as a birthday treat for my mums 70th. The hotel is in a good location, central and near the tube station. The room was clean and modern and the bed comfortable. What made the stay outstanding though was the staff. I had mentioned it was my mums birthday and they really went...

This 65 room property is staffed by people who make you feel like you are their only guest. We were greeted by Mateusz who was clearly ready to provide whatever help we needed, whether stashing our luggage when we arrived well before check-in or finding that electrical adapter to lend. He was our introduction to a team who exude a...
