Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.
Eat, see, and stay in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
My friends and family and I I stayed at Place d’Italie and were regular visitors to the Butte Aux Camille’s area, particularly in the evening as there are a lot of cafes and restaurants to choose from.
There’s some lovely churches too and a nice shopping strip. My sister saw the graffiti and said it was great. We loved the...
We are English gourmands and we were astonished by the quality of this food at an amazingly reasonable price. Every dish was melt in the mouth and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The wine was a delicious organic Languedoc. The decor is unpretentious but comfortable. We hope to return soon.
My companion and I both chose the seafood dish: it was perfectly cooked with original flavors (clementine and nuts) and the dish was exquisitely presented. It was served with Sardinian fragola pasta, which we also enjoyed eating. The price is kind of high (38 euros for a single dish), but it was well worth it.
The food is fresh and delicious. Only complain would be that the service was a bit slow (but the restaurant was full, even though it was a week night) and the Vietnamese deserts we've ordered were a too sweet for our taste.
The location is good. It is close to everything in Paris and the rooms are clean. But there is something I would like them to add is the homekeeping. I truly liked my stay there and I advise you to go there!
It's an older building with a bit of character but has been greatly renovated, especially the lobby which is blindingly white.
I liked the hotel and I like the 13th, though some tourists may find it a bit removed from the major sites. For me that is the neighborhood's beauty. You don't feel so much like a tourist and when...
Nice little hotel. Staid with 7 year old daughter. Close to metro that wil bring you to all tourist marks. Close to big shopping mall and easy to find nice dinner places. The hotel is quite simpel. But with clean room, and calm street.
The hotel is quaint and friendly staff make the stay even more enjoyable! My mum and I stayed here together and had a lovely, comfortable stay. Had breakfast here, it was lovely. Quite an old little place but that adds to it's uniqueness. Our every need was attended to and we felt completely at home here. We agree that we...
