As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
I passed by this fountain at busy Place Saint-Michel many times while in Paris and never failed to be captivated by it. The stylish wall fountain built in the 1800's, in the French Renaissance style features the Archangel Michael fighting the Devil, flanked by two dragons. Worth a look if you're in the area and you probably will be.
This church is unique for its use of stained glass, featuring the modern, abstract windows behind the apse depicting the seven sacraments. These fit surprisingly naturally into the overall Gothic style. When we were there, some of the statures in the side chapels were decorated beautifully with flowers, producing an overall feel of warmth and meditation. Clearly the church is...
I would recommend this as a must see visit. Beautiful old church set in an interesting history and a very attractive garden.. There are concerts performed many evenings, I m just sorry that I did not get to see one. Highly recommended for a visit.
After a lovely walk along the Seine to Notre Dame we wandered through this bustling quirky area and found Mulberry St. A great little bar, good wine and good music. Enjoyed a spot of people watching. Definitely worth a visit to this area when in Paris. Loads of food available for all ages.
The restaurant is a little hard to find from the street. Our taxi driver had to call and the restaurant sent one of their staff to open the door. The restaurant is small and very comfortable. The service could not be better-knowledgeable, friendly and just what one would want. We had the chef menu w wine pairings-it doesn’t get an...
We just got back from our meal at L'Initial and I felt compelled to review.
From start to end our experience was great. After reading the reviews on TA I was intrigued by the concept of a restaurant serving French food which "you can tell" is cooked by a Japanese chef.
I sent them an email (as I couldn't book...
This is a nice restaurant with friendly staff, but it falls short of greatness in terms of the food. The bread in particular was only OK, some fresh warm flatbread would have set the dishes off well but was not to be found. Good atmosphere however.
We stayed at Hotel St Paul Rive Gauche about a month ago for a 4-night stay. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast each morning had a lovely spread with lots of options... yogurt, granola, croissants, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, and more! The hotel is in a great location, very central to several big attractions and very near to...
Located in the beautiful Saint Germain district, the hotel is close to some of the best touristic attractions in Paris. Excellent atmosphere, professional staff as well as high level service.
Value for money extremely good
Hotel staff were fabulous! Couldn’t have asked for better service! Hotel is beautiful and rooms were luxurious! Bar area was beautiful! I just cannot day enough good things about the staff! They were all welcoming and attentive!
"Small, Friendly, Comfortable, Convenient Location. Just What I Wanted."

At the Hotel Parc Saint Severin I established a preference for a small-sized hotel; this one has 27 rooms, arranged on 7 floors. Its personable and efficient staff soon became familiar. Those at the front desk were comfortable speaking English, (but were happy to engage me in French when I wanted to learn). Life feels less hurried in a small...
