Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
A really good and thorough museum.
I particularly liked the interactive parts of the museum which come as a respite to a lot of reading.
For someone who knows nothing able Catalonian history, and wants to learn, this is must.
Visiting during weekend and high-season might be over-crowded as i was surprised by the amount of people during Thursday in April. BTW the was was really chilli, but still a nice pick-nick afternoon :)
This is the main beach on the Eastern side of the cathedral promontory but the larger expanse of beach is to the West along the promenade. This is however a nice enough beach and has a number of good bars and restaurants immediately behind it. In addition to the flat promenade walk to the West there is a shorter. hilly...
I had a really amazing time in that place and the waitress Laura help us out so much, she was so friendly all the time!
what atmosphere, me and my friend really enjoyed it a lot! hopefully we will be back soon!
THANKS LAURAA! 😊
The staff really make this place - super friendly and helpful. Great food - all so reasonably priced. No rush to have you off your table once you have finished eating which is great. We ate lunch here most days - can't fault it really.

I loved the views here and also that they served a virgin mojito as I was pregnant at the time of my visit. All of the food was good, but the paella could use some more seafood in it. The views of the water are excellent.
Honestly the best place to have tapas and fish dishes in Barcelona. Excellent first quality food, nice atmosphere and great service!
Tuna fillet and squid croquettes are a must to try out.. :)
Unique place, absolutely recommendable!
First time eating at La Estrella which is on a side street near to Estació de França so it's easy to find and get to. The restaurant was not very busy when we arrived but it soon filled up. The menu is short but something for everyone.
Decided to share some croquettas to start and a delicious salad with ham...
Spent three nights at this hotel and the best thing about it is the location (near the beach, History Museum of Catalonia, Maremagnum Mall and the HoHo bus station just in front). Room is quite small, clean, complete toiletries, staffs are nice. Average breakfast (tasty omelette, try the one with the Spanish hams, very nice).
The price is quite high...
We were in Barcelona for work for 6 nights and being SPG platinum we decided on the W for our upgradability (and the absolutely delivered!) and location on the beach. Having read other reviews and the warning by our driver that this hotel is full of prostitutes with poor security, we were initially a little concerned, but were quickly assured...
The hotel is situated a short walk from the beach just down a side street. The rooms are comfortable and the service offered was good. It was a good value for money stay the only downside was the size of the bath.... this was rather small! Staff are friendly and looked after me during my stay. It’s clean and in...
We arrived late, almost midnight, for a 3 night stay. The room we were allocated was small and faced out into the back street. We requested a move and the only room available was even smaller (a single room) with a small double bed. We took it for the night and then moved into a 3rd roommate next day. This was...
The hotel was lovely and the staff were helpful. The first room we were put in was VERY noisy we could hear running water all night the next day we asked to move and were moved straight away to a quieter room. The location is great, a good selection for breakfast and I would stay here again
