Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
Maurice Bernard Houghton was well liked in Kings Cross. Everybody knew him. He gave lots of charitable donations to King's Cross, helping the needy.
This guy was a gentleman. He loved waving at people. He loved the people of King’s Cross. He tried to help those in need, always with a smile.
I like that. I wish everyone would be...
I happened to be staying at a place around the corner and booked a 60 min Thai massage. Disappointing but not uncommon, that there is a $30 price difference $60 - $90 between a traditional Thai massage (no oil) vs a Thai oil massage.
I arrived just on time to find the front door locked, shortly after. A lady arrived...
I went on Destinys weird Sydney tour at the rocks and all I can say is it is the biggest waste of money!!!The staff were so unprofessional. The driver spent the entire time on his phone selling his truck and nearly caused an accident.I contacted Allen the owner for a refund and he refused.Save your money. It's a scam.Corrie
We did the Grand Circle Tour - small group with a great tour guide (and a guide in training). We were off of the cruise ship so the tour made our first stop at the Featherdale Wildlife Park - wonderful plan since we were in and out before the tour buses got there! We stopped at Windyridge Garden for viewing...
We made reservations a week before arriving in Sydney, and had a difficult time getting a table. I am so glad we got in, this place is fantastic.
They have a set menu that changes every 2 weeks, while we were here the main dish was roasted chicken that was fantastic.

I stayed near by here in Kings Cross and visited on multiple occasions. First just for lunch and had an great steak. Stopped in the later hours one night and the place was buzzing. I didn't stay long enough to really have a big opinion on the nightlife aspect however.
Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood this place was a delight,. Great wine reasonably priced along with excellent pizza. Many varieties and huge servings to choose from.
Be sure to save room for desert as the tiramisu was divine.
Overall a nice stay and I would return and recommend to others. Only thing I could comment on would be the freshness of the room it didn’t smell great and could have used some airing.iPad also didn’t work. Otherwise good sized room, comfortable bed and clean facilities. Staff were very friendly and happy to help.

The studio is very well-equipped with a full size refrigerator, TV, oven with 4 cook-tops, basic cooking vessels, microwave, cutlery, washing machine & dryer, detergent and dish-washing liquid with sponge, kitchen cloth, tea towel. Cupboards are good, they have an iron and iron-table as well. One can easily get basic stuff for kids like milk, eggs, etc from the Coles...
