The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
I enjoyed seeing this Temple right in the middle of the TST/MongKok side of HK.
No cost to visit and it sets in a cool square too. There are a lot of fortune tellers in that square some of which even speak English.
The Temple has three sections, one is devoted to Tin Hau, the iconic sea goddess how many...
Tin Hau is a goddness who is believed she can protect the safety of the fishermen or anyone whose life is related to the sea. This temple used to be near the water front, but because of reclamation, this temple is situation in the middle of a busy district and surrounded by stalls which are only set up when night...
It may be only small but it is quite verdant and shady. Suprisingly it is quite hilly also as you walk in the paths. It's quite near to Austin station and not that far from Kowloon Park so if you plan it right you can walk through both.
You can skip this square. Except for a few shops and couple coffee shops that's it.
I personally find this area a bit untidy. You can also see dried meat and susages hanging from some shop windows.
If you are looking for shopping u can try elsewhere.
Compare it to All resraurants in Hong Kong and you won't find any restaurant better regarding price and performance. We ordered the chicken curry and lamb curry and in addition to that we had three different types of naan: cheese garlic and plajn. To describe the food amazing. The service was good much better than the Chinese restaurant but not...
If you go with the Chef Recommendations, there is no way you can go wrong. Flavor is on point, portions are massive, service is quick. Only setback perhaps is that some items like the prawn dumplings can be a bit doughy, but it is good if you like the skins more chewy.
Great HK Congee place , definitely must go. though the staff there are not really friendly. they do smile to their old customers but tourists are like a "come eat go" attitude. not the best priced though but i will visit this place again
This small boutique hotel wins on many levels. The spotless, well appointed room has just the right amenities and floor to ceiling windows. Breakfast was wonderful with ample, freshly cooked options like eggs benedict to complement the buffet. Nice exercise room and great location with easy access to the airport. Ming was helpful and emailed with me before I arrived...
I really enjoyed my time here- the hotel is very tastefully decorated, the whole place is clean and the staff very gracious. They came promptly to bring a dehumidifier and make sure all was well with the air conditioner when I said the room was a bit stuffy.
Ian especially went out of his way to recommend the most efficient...
This hotel is a standard business hotel style that’s not very big space due to HongKong space constraints. But is generally very neat and clean with good facilities. Whatever bath necessities are available. Food wise is very good and yummy. Good selection.
Fantastic location, within mins walk to MTR station. Lots of eateries within walking distance. Rooms generally clean and spacious. First stop for free airport express shuttle bus K5, drop off / pick up point right outside main lobby. Thumbs up!

I picked this particular hotel for it's location. MTR is just round the corner and buses going to many different locations are either right in front of the hotel or in Jordan Road which is a very short walk away. The staffs are very friendly, helpful and courteous. Breakfast is buffet style serving both Western and Asian food. Our room...
