Home to both local families and transient expats, Tiong Bahru is a fascinating mix of tradition and youthful creativity. Its status as a conservation area ensures that this little hub has charm and heritage on display at every corner, while the 1930s art deco architecture provides a glimpse of days gone by. Stock up on fresh tropical fruits at the wet market, browse high quality literature and children’s books, shop for interesting gifts and local fashion, or munch on bargain-priced hawker food as the aroma of frying noodles and fresh-brewed coffee wafts through the air. Cap your day with a massage and a latte, a glass of wine, or a pain au chocolat from one of the many busy bakeries. An afternoon in this vibrant and beautiful neighbourhood is not to be missed.
We found this lovely art gallery whilst walking around Tiong Bahru on a hot sunday afternoon. It has a wonderful and beautiful collection of Asain art which speaks volumes by themselves. Definitely one to visit.
Sadhu is a lovely, quiet place, really conveniently located in Tiong Bahru. I've visited there several times, and now it's a must-do every time I'm in Singapore. The atmosphere is very calming, and the masseuses do a great job. I'm a huge fan of the thai body massage - they offer both 60 and 90 minute treatments. They offer clean,...
A local friend recommended us to visit the bookshop. One can spend hours in this pleasant place looking at books. The shop assistant was friendly, so were the two beautiful cats (espessialy one of them;). Highly recommend if you are in the area

It's clean, has sufficient seating (big plus!), and has some of the best food in the city. The selection is wide and varied, and the stall owners generally were very...
We checked this place out on the basis of the sign in the window saying number one bakery in Singapore on TripAdvisor. Being a Saturday it was incredibly congested with lots of people in a very small space. Had a good range of pastries and we had raisin brioches which were pretty good. And it had flat whites. After three...
The staff are absolutely wonderful, reception in particular took great care of us. We had a small issue with housekeeping but was resolved quickly with great service! Had breakfast each morning, absolutely delicious! Well done Wangz Hotel for making my stay enjoyable
The beds were comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, it was easy to get around with a bus stop outside the hotel. Plenty of eating places within a few minutes walk of the hotel. Lots of variety.
We booked a deluxe room, given a “free upgrade” to a bigger room.
However, the room Housekeeping is terrible. There was a lack of toiletries and tissue/toilet paper was not replenished. The room also had a slight smokey odour.
Also, this bigger room is a handicapped room, with a handicap friendly toilet. It is however not very user friendly for...
