The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
I've been past this temple many times, photographing it in the sunlight and with its night time lights. Finally gave in to visit the interior. Glad I did.
There is much to see. It extends back a ways. There are multiple levels and stairwells in many places. Monks have sessions with people in many rooms. You can look out the...
The Shanghai Natural History Museum has numerous exhibits. It is relatively cheap as children below 1.3m gets in for free.
The museum spans across 4 floors and there are theaters that showcases some highlights for the various categories. For the non Chinese speaking tourists, you may like to rent a translator machine (about 40 RMB), this translator would provide you...
the hardest thing is to replicate a winning formula, and they manage to do it with every location. this is one of the first in town (definitely more spacious and nicer than the crammed xtd one, and l think the only one which you can even sit outside. so love it!
Impressed with the Happy Hour , very reasonable drinks and complimentary snacks for 45Rmb. Dinner at the steak house . Crab cakes with beet puree ...yum grilled Tuna salad ( underwhelming ) Chilean ribeye (1248rmb) tastes good, bit on the tuhao price range :). Watch the wine pour per glass , the Maitre'd totally had us covered and was very...
One of the best burguers i had in my life. Ordered the pulled pork burguer, it was extremely delicious, and the bread was fresh and perfect. The fries were oustanding too. Makes me want to go back to Shanghai!
