This pub in the local village has changed hands many times, but has always been very good value..The new owners have taken it up a few notches. They have thinned out the tables, therefore, you don't feel as though you belong to the table next to you..The food is amazing, all freshly cooked to order, never had a bad meal... More

The Plough is a definite favourite of ours, the staff are friendly, helpful and the food is excellent. The specials are varied and seasonal. A true gem of place and a credit the management and staff. A warm welcome always.

They have a new chef at this very familiar and well liked eatablishment. He has brought a higher standard of eating out which is good to have more locally but at a higher price.

We visited alvescot for the fireworks and had a really warm welcome in the plough. The guys opened early for us so we didn't miss the fireworks. The pre order was great and appreciated. We had two brilliant steaks that were some of the best I've had in years. Our daughter had bangers and mash and she loved it. Highly... More

My family often goes to The Plough for the Sunday roast. The food is consistently good and it's a great place to bring guests. When I had family visiting from the U.S., everyone enjoyed the typical English country pub fare. Actually, I'm not sure it's fair to call it 'typical.' I'm sure it's above average. Really fresh and expertly prepared.... More

My family and I walked here from Black Bourton just because it was close -- we had no idea we were in for the best meal of our trip! The pork and carrot pie special was amazing, and all the dishes were sooo tasty. We had such a lovely time; I hope I can make it back there some day.

I visited with a friend for the second time in a fortnight. Having had a delicious lunch of the best chicken liver pate I have ever eaten just a week ago, I had to revisit to have it again! I was torn between the homemade soup and the pâté this time and the owner offered us a small taster of... More
