It was not easy to find a place for late lunch in October in Calasetta. Food was decent although not spectacular and the choice was somehow limited. We had frito misto (mixed, fried seafood) and some pasta. Prices and service were OK.

We arrived late to caseletta and were seated at 1030 at this bustling local restaurant. Server arrived quickly, brought ordered drinks quickly (nice tap beer and house wine). Thirst quencher, we ordered pizza, calzone and moule with wine sauce. All were amazing and (being from...Switzerland) incredibly inexpensive. My calzone was best or close to best ever. Parmasean covered outside and was baked to almost crisp melted perfection. Inside was some sauce, motzarella and egg plant and the crust was amazingly thin and tasty. The size was enormous until you popped it. Can't recommend enough. Amazing start to our holiday.More

At lunch, the choice of dishes was poor. The chicken steak and burger were very poor. The staff speak English very badly.

We visited Sant Antioco on a Saturday in Sept and found it very peaceful and quiet in Calasetta by the early afternoon. Lots of shops closed and not many restaurants open. So we had a sandwich and pizza here by the pretty harbour area. Busy...place and lots of flies outside, we ate inside but still lots of flies about. The pizzas and hamburger sandwich wasn't cut for us and we had blunt knives (I saw other diners struggling to cut pizzas). So it would have been better to have our food already cut in order to make a start somewhere! I had to hold the plate while my husband attempted to cut his pizza. The staff were too busy in other areas to notice us struggling. The food was nice and the burger sandwich was in a thick chunk of french bread so hard to cut too. The water was served in nice bottles.More

Excellent staff, very friendly. We arrived after lunch time, but even though the cook made an exception and served the four of us a very tasty meal. Lovely!

IL veliero - I believe this translates to Sailer/sailor(?) In English. Well it has a great captain at the helm. I understand it has recently changed ownership and it has been very nicely decorated. A bright, very clean restaurant/pizzeria situated on the lovely harbour front...in Calasetta - on the island of Sant' Antioco, Sardegna. Great views as you enjoy a variety of pizzas and freshly cooked Italian food. No frozen stuff here! Generous portions, nicely presented and at a price that will suit any pocket. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, creating a great atmosphere and dining experience. Relatively new it may be, but already a success from my point of view. I have just spent 11 days there on holiday and dined there on numerous occasions - and this is not yet in season - when it is, dining will be available both inside and out - or just drop in for morning coffee, lunchtime snacks, refreshing drinks - they do it all. Highly recommended.More
