When I enter Guido's my heart opens. Perhaps because we decided to buy a house in Maremma and live there half the year also thinking about the proximity to Guido, perhaps because; summarizes all the qualities and characteristics of the Maremma: substance rather than form, quality rather than fiction, passion for the territory and respect for tradition. The extraordinary thing at Guido is that they are all good: it is not the case of a genius chef surrounded by a team that follows him with difficulty. No: at Guido, in addition to Guido himself who is a monument, they are good at the kitchen, the waiters are good, Magliano is beautiful, the little walk inside the walls to get to Guido is beautiful, the fact that there is no written menu and that many bottles are without labels is beautiful (OK, the menu; it's written there if you ask for it and if you ask for renowned local wines there is a wide choice with relative label, I'm talking about the excellent house Sangiovese), it's wonderful that you know that in any case the cost it will be affordable, even with a lot of truffle on the various dishes that require it. From Guido you reach an inner balance where nothing changes, everything is certain, everything is beautiful, everything is good. They are two hours of extrapolation from reality, and finally two hours of rebellion against the commandments of "starry" fanaticism and that aspires to be starry. Thanks Guido!

Nice place in the center of Magliano. Characteristic and elegant. Very well known and for this reason you need to book well in advance.
Dinner began with excellent mixed appetizers, continuing with excellent tagliolini with truffles, baked suckling pig with roasted potatoes (good, good) and guinea fowl with porcini mushrooms, cooked in an impeccable way (apart from the excessive quantity of oil in the tray of flow rate)
Refreshing lemon sorbet suited us well.
More than adequate account. Punctual and courteous service.
The only discordant note: some broken plates. And for the placemats that remain on the table it stands out too much

We had dinner last night at Guido's and were fully satisfied with the skill shown in the kitchen and the very kind waiters who direct you in the right choices. Being the generous portions we opted for a taste of two first courses (boar pappardelle and pici alla cinta senese) of sublime quality, then divinely fried lamb. And the bill absolutely honest. You cannot come to the area without trying this unforgettable cuisine!

Entrance made for gnomes , broken / chipped dishes , open from 8 pm only in theory because we , despite having booked 7/8 days before, we waited at least 20 minutes but entering we found several tables already at the "second" (sic!) staff certainly not jovial, indeed ! Tasteless food including tagliolini with truffle "disappeared" that you could not see and not hear and tasteless and odorless like almost everything else! In short, everything is far below expectations for all of us who were in agreement in the judgment. In the end I went to pay the bill and I was asked to pay at least 50% in cash instead of all by card!!! All without a smile and / or a thank you from what seemed the owner!? Reading the reviews instead it seems the best Italian restaurant.... of the 6 at table 3 we are “colleagues” and all gourmets. Maybe we're too difficult? It may be, but certainly we will not be back in this place.

After hearing the praises, I hoped for something different, better. About the food nothing to say, everything great (apart from the worms in the porcini mushrooms of tagliatelle, which can happen, but it means not having cleaned them well nor having watched them while cooking) and very large portions (noteworthy the tagliolini with truffles; zero the 'appetizer).
But the biggest disappointment was the place. Unfortunately being a beautiful cellar, with vaulted ceilings, all in stone, it has been crammed with tables to the point that you do not pass if not getting the other guests up. And then, which I really didn't appreciate, the dishwashing room (well separated from the kitchen) without doors. So the unfortunates who were sitting nearby, they suffered passages and banging of dishes throughout dinner. Nomea from great restaurant, actually an 'excellent trattoria, with room for improvement in management. Great prices.

I have known the restaurant da Guido for over twenty years and it has now become a fixed point of our summer holidays, the pleasure of spending an evening at dinner "da Guido" is superlative. It is useless to describe the dishes. From the appetizer to the dessert it is a journey through the clouds and the space of the highest Italian and Maremma area, in particular the kindness and professionalism of the waiters and the final setting of a place where you feel at home. In recent years I have recommended "da Guido" to dozens of friends and acquaintances and everyone has been enthusiastic and thanked me. Logically, booking is necessary, but anyone who hasn't tried "da Guido" has lost a few days of "inner" happiness!!!!

From appetizers to desserts, the da Guido restaurant takes you through the flavors of Tuscany, teasing every desire of the palate. Tuscan crostini, mushrooms in oil, raw ham, tortelli with truffle, pici alla cinta sense, wild boar, suckling pig, fried lamb, side dishes... All exceptional, authentic and full of flavour.
Each course is served with grace and competence.
If it were close to home, I would go back once a month.
The only flaw, the place was a little dark on a splendid sunny day. But as soon as you start eating you forget everything and let yourself be inebriated by the flavours.

We often come to this restaurant, casual place, with great service and genuine dishes. Hearty appetizers, delicious porcini mushrooms in oil. Tagliolini and tortelli with truffles EXCELLENT. Wide choice of main courses, Fiorentina delicious, mature and tender as butter.
Morellino of the house in bulk perfect combined with the food eaten.
Sweets to conclude homemade, including the famous panna cotta baked in the oven.
The friendliness of the staff and Guido, leave you inside the memory of a perfect evening, definitely to be repeated and repeated again.

It was recommended to us by our host, first of all specifying that without a reservation it would be impossible to find a place.
We arrived around 10pm hoping for some sort of second shift. The place was packed, but inevitably a couple was about to leave, so they asked us if we had a little patience and they would accommodate us. We waited 20 minutes and we had our table. The service was efficient and practical. The menu is varied and with abundant courses based on local and quality products. Relationship
excellent quality/price... to the point that we would return every day. Highly recommended!

Perhaps one of the best trattorias in the area.
Abundant starters of excellent quality. (Cold meats, cheeses, olives, porcini mushrooms and not in oil, croutons)
The thing that really struck us (besides the abundance of all the dishes) were the tagliolini with truffles.
Never tasted so good.
Pappardelle with wild boar, delicious.
We didn't get to try the latter!
We will be back to try the baked suckling pig with potatoes!
Wine and water 35 euros per person.
Price more than fair given the quantity and quality of the food.
Highly recommended!

The true flavors of the Maremma can be savored at Guido's. The appetizer of many courses, the many first courses I mention only the ricotta-based tortellini with truffles, the small ones with duck, the unforgettable pappardelle with wild boar, etc, etc, etc.
Book early!!!!!

Super TOP
Anyone who has been to Magliano and hasn't eaten at Guido's has made a big mistake! Stunning appetizers with mushrooms in oil a delight, cutting boards and gnudi with truffles to scream like the roast suckling pig. Absolutely worth trying
