We have been visiting this place everyday since we came to kalaw because our kids love the food here. Good food, good service, beautiful restaurant. We can enjoy the mountain view while we are eating. The best place for those who like to take pictures for Instagram, facebook, etc. Definitely coming back. 💗

Best dining place in Kalaw. Super delicious food that I wish I can order it from Food Panda from my city. great atmosphere and for family with kids like us, we can literally feel at home.

Maybe we were just unlucky but the meals we had at the 7 Sisters restaurant were truly awful. We both had a curry, one beef and one chicken. The beef was so tough as to be nearly inedible. OK, sometimes beef can be a little chewy although cooked properly in a curry it should tenderise. Amazingly, the chicken was also very tough. How can you cook chicken in a curry to make it tough? I would have thought this was impossible. Somehow they managed it. The only positive was the delicious ginger tea. If you are going to this restaurant for the tea then fine. But do not go there for dinner.

Came here for the hype but the food is not up to expectation - in fact the worst I have ever tried in Myanmar. There are definitely better local food or Shan food elsewhere. The meat (mutton and pork) were tough. If you really want to drop by, just grab the white rice and go. The white rice is good!

the other name of this famous restaurant is “the 7 sisters”. We came there based on the great comments we found on Tripadvisor. We took 2 vegetable curry, one Thai style and the other Myniamar style. Actually both of them were coming with vegetables with little taste (too much cooked?), in two kind of sauce/soup (depending on the style) resulting in something very disappointing. On top of this both of us were sick in the Following night... we do not recommend at all.

Came here with our group of 14 for the Shan cuisine...but not too happy. Food was slow arriving and they missed the mark on my wife's gluten free request.....she had an allergic reaction immediately and we had to leave.

2nd visit after October 2017. Previous visit was for dinner and whilst wasn't amazing it was rather decent. Lunch yesterday was a major disappointment. Pork curry & mutton curry - meat was never slow-cooked or pre-cooked beforehand so it was astonishingly tough (and to me, signs of a kitchen that does not care). Avocado salad - we just had a much more remarkable version up the hills day before during our trekking. Fish soup - nothing to shout about. Prices were not cheap. Environment is good. Customer service is good. Rice is fragrant. I suspect (perhaps) the chefs are only working on the evening shift and hence not on duty for lunch. Do me a favour and just pop next door to Pyae Pyae for authentic shan food & strawberry yoghurt shake.

Came to this place because of the positive reviews and ratings on TripAdvisor. However, I found out that the food was terrible and overrated on TripAdvisor. A random shop that next to it is even better that it (we tried the day before) .

Very nice and clean place, warm welcome from the owners. Fresh and well cooked food, like curry and delicious vedgetables. Typical fornitures mixing barmish and british style. A pleasure stop in the way to Inle lame!

Foods are okay but not wow. I believe this restaurant is meant for tourists. Price is considered quite expensive.

Went there after seeing the restaurant is ranked high on trip advisor. I ate the bean soup and the vegetables curry and it was ok - not more than that. I ordered the lassi for drink but it had the taste of spoiled milk so I passed.

Quaint old building with real colonial feel, containing many interesting old photographs. Good range of luncheon options including Shan dishes. Cold drinks, Pleasant, friendly and efficient service. Good value. Very pleasant lunch. Recommended.

Quite a nice restaurant to sample authentic Shan food. Set in an old house, the restaurant exhibits a rustic feel and strong colonial heritage. The food and service was quite good without being excellent and the meal and drink bill was, overall, quite cost-effective. For a good meal in an ideal location, this restaurant is highly recommended.
