This was our second visit to The Bavarian. Both visits were for lunch and I wasn't disappointed either time. Once you can get a seat service was quick and friendly. The burgers were great and the schnitzel was great. All the portions are large.... chase it with a Bavarian beverage and you will be full. Be ready to order when... More

This restaurant is somewhat hard to drive to unless you have 4 wheel drive, but they will provide transportation from the base of the mountain to the restaurant. The food was delicious and authentic. We just ate too much.

Stopped for lunch with a DoubleBock Beer and had a very fine Bavarian meal. With the beer and altitude, we made our last run of the day back to the lodge.

Located at the base of lift 4 the Bavarian is popular for lunches on the deck. Don't have too much goulash or beer or you might not make it back up the mountain! At dinner the restaurant will send a SUV to pick you up at your house or hotel. The restaurant is decorated to feel like an authentic German... More

Lunched outside on a sunny winter ski day and it was decadent. Loved the fresh hot pretzel, next time will get it with the special Camembert dip. Share the spaetzel with a friend, it's huge.

My wife & I thought the Bavarian would be a great place for dinner. The prices are high but the location and ambience seemed perfect. The food met all our expectations but after initially getting wine & salads we were basically ignored. Our waitress seemed far more interested in the large group that came in after us. Other tables were... More

This place is located in the mountain so you'll need to take a lift and either ski/snowboard to the restaurant, which is a treat in itself. The restaurant's atmosphere truly takes you away from New Mexico and places you in a cabin in the country side of Germany. The outside seating is perfect to enjoy the snowy mountain views and... Yummy food, good beer and great atmosphere with outside seating made this place a great choice while at Taos. Thank you to Matthew at Alpine Xtreme in Taos Ski Valley for a great recommendation.

So good we ate here everyday on the mountain. German food the way it's supposed to be made. A perfect menu selection from sausages to schnitzels, gluwein to 32 ounce brews. Waitresses dressed in character and community seating if you have room. Get there early because it's really popular. However, don't walk away. The Bavarian is worth the wait. On... More
