Although Kikaku makes a good effort at delivering a reasonable dining experience, they deliver it with fairly slow service and less than acceptable quality. Hamachi (supposed to be tender and fairly raw) was prepared somewhat cooked (to mask lack of freshness?) and subsequently was quite...More

My husband and I had dinner here mid-week mid-season. We both really enjoyed our saki and the miso-soup. We ordered a plate of 36 pieces. The salmon was really nice. The rice seemed dry and hence some of the rolls weren't as good as they...More

I'm glad you enjoyed some of the things you've experienced, and we're grateful for your constructive review. We are aware of the fact that our rice can be inconsistent in quality. We'll make sure our rice makers (kitchen staff/chef) are reminded of this so they...More

Excellent food served in a small "nook" of a place. Meals were artfully presented and very ample. Atmosphere was sublime with soft jazz music and peace & quiet. Outdoor seating was popular on a warm Sept. evening.

Maybe we're spoiled by our local sushi place, but we found the food very expensive and average compared to others. The sashimi was thin in comparison to what we're used to, and the taste didn't seem fresh? Perhaps because we got takeout service, but still...More

Very bad service. The taste of the hot pot is very bad too. They even forgot to bring us the drink before we finished.

My family and I are having a kids honeymoon in Blue Mountain this week. We are staying at the Blue Mountain Inn and we wanted sushi for dinner. We noticed outside that they were having specials. Since it isn't all you can eat and we...More

Great variety of specialty rolls. We were not able to find the menu online, but had no problem ordering in person for take-away. We tried five different rolls and all were delicious and well made.

So If you are a vegetarian and looking for healthy options in Blue Mountains the sushi was a good find. There is warm miso soup, which I paired with edamame and then the vegetarian sushi. The service and ambiance are ok, but the food was...More

Very good sushi, some specialty rolls are a little pricey but you get more than you pay for in fresh delicious fare.
