We were on a tour party of about 22. Waiters were kept busy but were not friendly. Seemed like they wanted us to eat and move on. Food was good and plentiful. There was quite a line up, so I guess they did want us to move on.

Just half way into our tour of Lisbon, our tour guide Nuno from Lisbon Riders made a stop at an area overlooking the April 25th bridge and made some good restaurant suggestions. We chose to go for this one mainly because it has a nice view of the 25th bridge and the Tagus river, although where we sat was slightly... More

This is one of the few places that are wonderful on the first visit but so much better second time around. Great service , great food and great views with the added bonus of the ferry journey across the Tegus river to get there

I was just looking for soup and a beer for lunch. The fish soup - in this fish restaurant - was a small bowl of tepid tomato paste/fish bouillion/corn flour with two cut up shrimp and croutons. No excuse, as it was not crowded. The service was acceptable, but not the food.

There's a well balanced mix of customers towards the local, meaning the place is not an empty-of-all-meaning tourist attraction... I took the Special Seafood, shrimps and crab. Lovely crab!!! Being a Mediterranean guy, shrimps wouldn't be the hot spot, but Atlantic crab was the deal!! What a meat!! Served with Porto for starter and BSE white whine to go along.

The food in this place was amazing, all fresh seafood and it just kept coming out. We were there with a large group and there was no shortage of food. Delicious. Very tight seating, great views. Brilliant Service.

During our visit we decided that we must try the local cuisine. The food was great, fresh and hot. With my meal I ordered a beer and gestured to the waiter that I want a large one. To my surprise he brought me a liter (Mas) of the local brew. The baked cod was delicious but required a lot of... More

We had a late Sunday lunch at Farol. The place was packed with 90% locals and 10% tourists. Everyone looked pretty happy, so we decided to give it a try after taking the ferry over. We were lucky to get a seat. If you can get beyond the hard sell for the lobsters and the somewhat typical placement of unwanted... More

The "Farol" is a century-old restaurant, the oldest in Setubal and is known for good beer and good seafood, from their own aquariums. With a cozy atmosphere and a great ''Tejo'' river and Lisbon's view, it's a great place to be.The name "Farol" came from the lighthouse's existence in Cacilhas who once helped navigation of small boats, called "Cacilheiros".Cacilheiros are an easy transport to lots of people in Lisbon to the other side of the Tagus river. You can combine the great tour with the excelence to be able to lunch or dinner in Cacilhas and taste our fish or seafood.
