Exceptional food and service. This restaurant is located in Kutchan town and well worth a visit. We all had different meals and everyone was extremely satisfied. Service is great and the vibe is great. Can’t wait til next year so I can visit again. Price...affordable.More

We had an excellent dinner for seven, including three children. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced for the area — less expensive than lesser restaurants in nearby Niseko. Wine list was short but had good selections at reasonable (for Japan) prices. The staff was...friendly and accommodating, including of our children’s food idiosyncrasies. Highly recommended.More

We had a great meal, with a decent menu at what I thought was a very reasonable price for higher end restaurants in the Niseko/Hirafu area. The beef cheek is delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant is great and the wait staff was very pleasant.

Very poor level of behavior from staff & manager. Price was a bit spicy for that average food (food still frozen, maybe 30 sac in the microwave would have done the job). Go have a look on all the typical Japanese restaurants around

My experience was catastrophic. Food is below average, and this is by far the most expensive restaurant in town. You will feel rushed throughout your meal to meet two seating times even though the restaurant was completely empty. The staff were incredibly rude. I would...not waste your time.More

Nice atmosphere, good-looking furnitures and English-speaking waiters/waitresses complement the interesting menu choices and excellent wines.

Twice as good as the best eating in Niseko at half the price. A varied menu that focuses on italian food and makes a great change if you are after something different. All 7 of us were happy with all our choices from the huge...oyster to begin along with the potato nochi (don’t miss this one) right through to the amazing deserts. Service outstanding. This restaurant was good but nothing to rave about. The staff were friendly and attentive and the decor very nice, however it was very cold inside and they ran out of vodka! Seriously, what kind of restaurant runs out of vodka at 7pm?

We ran into Sekka Lab by accident and it’s our luck finding it. We were desperately looking for a restaurant in mid afternoon that opens and offers vegan options (for two in our party). The team of this restaurant not only let us in ten...mins before they opened they worked the magic and cans back with something much nicer than what they bar snacks menu offers. Highly recommended. Definitely would try out their other branches if we had the time.More

Sekka Lab is nice fusion of Euro-Japanese, though more Euro. It's a beautiful venue, furnished with lovely pieces, with table or counter seating. It's quite dark but sexy inside. They have an open kitchen, so the counter is your place if want to chat with...and watch the chef do his thing. Service was great and food all good. It's an unusual menu with lots of new things to try. You can order in a share / tapas style so you get to taste more. Some nice wines also sold by the glass. The Gnocchi was very good. It's a good idea to book, especially in season.More

We ate there a few times, covering most of the menu. The food and service was consistently excellent. The chef has conceived a short menu combining local ingredients with contemporary cooking techniques. The restaurant's design also blends traditional elements with modern design. If you are...indecisive, all starters are served up as small bite sized pieces and presented in a quasi-dégustation way. The winter selection included a range of smoked local pork, pork terrine and octopus bites. Mains we tried included the succulent beef cheeks, the slow cooked venison served with gnocchi, clams and porchini mushrooms in white wine serve over perfectly cooked pasta. We skipped desert. Very much recommended.More

What a surprise to go this beautiful open kitchen restaurant. From beginning to end we had the best service, followed by three courses. The chef talked with us through an interpreter to be be sure the dish was ok as one in our party is...vegetarian. We started with a fresh salad with local ingredients and pickled vegetables, a perfect balance, then homemade tagliatelle one with fresh porcini cream sauce the other with blue cheese sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauces were so good, I order the homemade bread ( another must try) to finish the sauce. We sampled two dessert, the Tiramisu because we just wanted to try how the chef created his version. We were not disappointed. It had a great texture, not mushy or soft as some can be. The other was a blood peach panna cotta with a unique crispy texture and full of flavour. We don't drink but the homemade organic ginger ale was fresh and outstanding. I would definitely come back to the place. Staff is very friendly and the ambiance is beautiful with the massive solid wood bar where we dined. The tables looked cozy where other larger diners ate and those dishes looked exquisite.More

After seeing the media release, we decided to have a meal out in Kutchan and we weren't disappointed. The old Adidas Building has been fitted out and is visually stunning with the choice of either sitting at the low bar area or at tables. We...chose the set 5 course meal (5000 JPY) and loved every part of it and were so glad we'd made the effort to head into Kutchan. It was not an expensive meal, the food was fantastic and the setting was beautiful and warm with the snow falling outside the huge picture windows. We'd highly recommend a meal here - definitely one of the best we've had. A couple of points to note for those of you staying in Hirafu who are keen to venture a little further afield than the expensive Village restaurants - Ask your concierge or property manager who speaks Japanese to book for you then catch the Night Bus to Kutchan (get off right after the Plat Information Centre stop). The return bus leaves from the train station every hour or so in the evening (2016/17 season was at 10 past the hour). The cost of the bus is 360 JPY or free with an All Mountain Pass.More

I have only eaten lunch and it was a set menu but you do have a choice. The black ink squid spaghetti was outstanding. ... great flavour and the pasta was cooked al dente. Very impressed. The ambiance is old Japan, with various antiques lamps...and furniture. My lunch was an interesting salad, black ink squid spaghetti and a very good cappuccino for 1,500 yenMore
