We just found this place while searching around town for some where to eat and most places were all full booked in town and wouldn't take walk in's. Bistro Re Arbor menu was pretty fancy looking but really reasonably priced. So we decided to try...it out. The service was great, food came out very quick and was really good and tasty. We were pleasantly surprised by this place and would recommend it and go back.More

We enjoyed a lunch at this relatively new venue which is hidden off the main drag going up to Hirafu past Izumikio on the right. It the last of a collection of dark timber accommodation buildings on the right driving up to Hirafu. They have...a fresh light menu which is Italian Japanese fusion. The meals were beautifully presented in very comfortable modern room. Service was standard Japanese (good). The restaurant has an upstairs and downstairs set up with kitchen at the entrance. Sadly they missed out on any significant view of the mountains though both rooms offer pleasant views of the woods. Priced very reasonably and below other places serving lower quality. You’ll have to look out for it to find it. Very safe bet.More

The food here is delicious. It's Japanese/Italian fusion and makes a welcome change to udon, udon and more udon. However, the meal service was chaotic. We were a table of 4 and my 3 fellow diners had all finished their meals before mine was even...served. And after that, our entrees appeared. Up down and all around - the smiling and friendly wait staff could not offer any explanation for the crazy order of service. They just smiled and bowed some more. We were the only customers that night (a Friday in February), so busy-ness was not a reason for the poor service. The restaurant is poorly sign posted, but is worth seeking out. But just be prepared for a bit of an interesting experience.More

If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle from central Grand Hirafu for a value dinner, this new fusion restaurant in Izumikiyo, about a 10-15 min walk from the center towards the East Village, is a good choice. It is so...new you can still smell the wood coating. The interior is that of a fine dining European restaurant, while the price tag of the dishes are way below what you would pay for something equivalent anywhere in the region. The menu is varied and features Japanese, French and Italian favorites in tapas style. The sashimi was fresh, the garlic gambas strong and tasty, and the sake heavenly refined. What prevents me from giving 5 stars: The batter of the tempura was not as crispy as one would expect, and the staff (which is very local Japanese - thus super friendly and humble) needs some more training to live up to the Western image of this place. But all in all we were very pleased when we received the check - which at JPY 84k for two persons including drinks is excellent price/value for a place in Grand Hirafu.More

We gave this new restaurant a try and were not disappointed. The interior is modern, but with warmth. We've had sashimi, tempura and other dishes that were all delicious and priced fairly. Waiting staff was friendly and attentive.

Tucked away in Izumikyo, Hirafu East Village (10 min walk from Middle Hirafu) is a very new restaurant that’s just opened. So new, no one is aware of it! Service is incredible and the presentation of their meals is beautiful. As a group of 4...we decided on mainly Sashimi and we were not disappointed. Price is very reasonable. The menu choice is long and there’s something for everyone. Give it a go, as they are tucked away and new, they need ‘word of mouth’ to get this tiny place up and running. Western style seating, with a warm ambience.More
