Not bad however the chef is trying to do fusion but does not really get sauces. Either too strong or bland. Nothing seemingly in between. Prices are quite expensive for what you get: 3000 yen for a standard izakaya Hoke that was actually a bit...over-cooked and dry. 4000 yen for 2 pieces of venison loin with a rather tasteless “Ainu” sauce with some berries in it. On the positive side, wines are well chosen and affordable and the ginger beer is great (but expensive 😆)More

The food and drinks were delicious. My husband and I did some shared foods and they split things for us to make the sharing easier. The staff was very friendly and explained the details of our meal. Highly recommend this place. We made a reservation...and I think that is probably a good idea during the winter season.More

If you are looking for an enjoyable, relaxed evening with family or friends, want to explore new dishes, matching drinks or just let you surprise from high quality cuisine then this is the right place for you. We (my wife + 8yrs daughter + I)...spend one evening there and enjoyed it a lot. We had once the vegetarian menu + the signature menu and the kids box (bento) for our daughter with the matching drinks and some sake and appetizers before. The quality, the presentation, the atmosphere, the service ... everything was quite relaxed, on a really high level and absolutely worth the price. I believe this is besides the Niseko Ramen the 2nd place we will regularly visit, each time when we are skiing in Niseko!More

We made the reservation and arrived in time. Ordered the Niseko Feast which came with a series of dishes - fried chicken, sliced flounder, tiger prawn salad, Taraba crab, wagyu tataki along with the pot of tea, edamame. We also ordered the 3 types of...sashimi, the cauliflower soup, kutchan tofu and 3 glasses of local beer to go along with the meal. Everything tasted fresh, especially the tiger prawns. Didn’t think the taraba crab was anything that special but if you are in Hokkaido, having the big crab is a must, I suooosed. For dessert, we had the tiramisu and snow ball. The snow ball was unique and very delicious. We will definitely drop by again the next time we are in Niseko.More

We went snowboarding at Grand Niseko and this was a perfect hideout to eat and warm yourself up, before the next leg.... came here thrice! The queue here during this season is slightly less crowded than the restaurant at main mountain centre. Still fairly crowded...with a queue nonetheless. Meals here were really good quality. We had the fresh sashimi rice bowl and the pork katsu rice. Fresh and natural good tasting food! Really really good coffee too by the ponytail barista/bar manager (I think his name is Ricko)! Black coffee was aromatic and full of flavor and body, flat white was naturally sweet and milk was so smooth and well froth. Excellent service from their team at An Dining. Pouring of more water for us without us asking. Attentiveness to detail and well efficiently run restaurant. The staffs here definitely takes pride in their work. I went for coffee elsewhere in my last day at hirafu, wanting to get a different scenery. Was deeply disappointed as the coffee elsewhere was slightly bitter and no match with An Dining. This is possibility the best coffee spot in hirafu, hard to find a place that serve excellent food to go along with it as well. Would definitely try to make my way back if I’m ever at Niseko area again!More

If you don't want to spend time to queue up in mountain center, An may be a way out. You can get a benton there and enjoy it in the bar area. It just cost hundreds of Yen. If you prefer better food, dine-in also...is a good choice. Dine-in is a bit expensive; it is around JPY3,000 per head.More

An Dining is located in Ki Niseko but is independent from the hotel . Excellent service from the manager and friendly staff. The set dinner is excellent -every dish good from fried chicken to beef to crab ,which was superb. Their raspberry and orange sorbet...is amongst the best I have eaten . Being a hotel guest , I also had their breakfast - both western and japanese breakfasts are served . Pretty good and good coffee.More

Fabulous dinner! We went for the Winter Premium option, and it was amazing! Maeda san came out to say hello and have a chat. You can tell that he is very passionate with his craft and Hokkaido’s local produce. Maeda san and his team looked...after us really well, such an enjoyable dining experience. We have just returned for another fantastic holiday in Niseko. I had made a point of booking in to An Dining twice as we always have a fabulous experience due Chef Shin’s amazing skills, delicious local produce and exciting yet balanced dishes. The prawn ‘bisque’...was my husbands favourite ( I won’t spoil the surprise!) and ,although I’m not normally a fan of desserts, the chocolate nemesis was outstanding and delicious. The presentation is exquisite and tantalising .When we went on the 25 th February we had the premium degustation with drink pairing which was superb! The pairing with tempura was genius...again I won’t spoil the surprise ! The second time we dined ( March 1st) we had a la carte including some of the most exquisite lamb ( both neck and steak) I have ever tasted. Chef Shin’s ( local) red wine recommendation was perfect! We will definitely be back next year( at least twice!!)More

We went here for dinner based on a friend’s recommendation that Shinichi san’s restaurant was a must visit. It was an amazing experience and the food was spectacular, worthy of a Michelin Star. Better than any Sydney hatted restaurant we have been too. Probably the...best dining experience we have had in Japan ever. Amazing value too. We went back for lunch as well.More

We were keen to try the cuisine at An Dining for a dinner experience given the credentials of the chef and the exciting and very authentic menu. We also happened to be staying at the Ki Niseko where the restaurant is located. We dined as...a family with two teens and I wanted to match a particular French red wine with a signature red meat dish. At the end of the meal we all agreed that the food was beautifully cooked, full of flavour and reflective of exceptional cooking skill. However the journey to get it let down the quality of the food. All our main courses came out together, but for some reason the bottle of wine we ordered did not appear. Our mains were getting cold on the table while we inquired. After 10 minutes someone came to tell us that they had run out of the bottle we ordered and could we order another? That was fine. It took another 20 minutes for the second order to turn up. So rather than eat cold food, we sent the mains back to be reheated. That meant our kids had finished long before we began. When the wine finally arrived with the re-heated mains, the food was luke warm. The meal was a good match, but what this experience highlighted is a disconnect between the kitchen and the bar staff. For the price we paid, this was not an exceptional dining experience and perhaps this was a one off on the evening, but given the cost, we decided to try other dining options during the remainder of our stay and we did not have a similar experience.More

For a special holiday meal, this was disappointing providing a very average meal in a top end hotel. Generally, Tempuras, and Goyza can be had a t a good quality throughout Japan, but here we had better meal on the mountain. Both the service and...food quality were below standard even for a casual place, much less a formal dinner restaurant. This place is probably a better breakfast cafe for the hotel than a find dining dinner restaurant for Niseko.More

We ate out 7 nights in Niseko and this was one of our best experiences. The Manger Akinori was so helpful and the staff were excellent. The meal selection is wide so all tastes catered for. I liked it because it was certainly Japanese and...option of healthy simpler items. The manager described some of the options as what you might get in a Japanese home. I loved my eggplant with miso sauce. It was think steamed them lightly browned with a perfect amount of miso. Personally I prefer that to fish skin wrapped. The salad was particularly good and my husband loved the meat he ordered. They also took the time to explain the sake. I highly recommend.More

We came a year ago & were appeased with services & quality of food. This time round, it’s less impressive perhaps both quality & fancy factor ebbing. We enjoyed lunch better for better value, less so for dinner. Seafood here generally better than meat dishes.
