We stopped here for lunch where we sat on the outside terrace overlooking the town. I had the daily special, which was 3 traditional German sausages, potato salad, fresh sauerkraut, and bread. Really tasty food and well presented too. I then had the apple strudel for dessert following by fresh coffee. An excellent meal and good value. The staff were... More

I don't remember the name of it, but when we arrived there were three left. We bought two, and are still regretting not grabbing the third. It's a circular pasty cut in half like a burger, and filled with fresh whipped cream, then topped with a shortbread crumb topping dusted with powdered sugar. Amazing. I'll never be able to visit... This was an OK place to stop and get a coffee half way along a long drive. The coffee was not great, compared to most of the coffee we had in Costa Rica. Cute dog. We considered grabbing a bite to eat here but couldn't find anything to suit out diets - if you are gluten-free or vegan you will... More

We stopped here on our way out to Playa Hermosa. Along our drive there were many signs for this eatery. Of course, one would think it was the best place to stop and refresh. We found it to be pretty pricey. We had pastries and coffee that were just ok. The pastries were a little dry. Not worth the stop.

We stayed today at Tom's German Bakery. Being Germans ourselves, we enjoyed the great German (Bavarian) beer, Bratwurst, the unbelievable chocolate cake, the Laugen roll and the cheese plate (unseen so far in Costa Rica). You may wonder about the interesting combination, right? The secret is: everything is so yummy. Not only that: All the people in the bakery are... More

My husband and I were in Tabacon and on the way to Tamarindo stopped for a quick lunch at the bakery. Best meal we had in Costa Rica.

Loved this place. The two ladies who served our food were super friendly. And was a native German. We ordered bratwurst for lunch and what we got,we not really expecting. The bratwurst, bread and mustard was delicious. What we were surprised by was the salad (lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cucumber) that came on the bread. Not how bratwurst is served in... More

This is an informal outdoorsy restaurant that is attached to the bakery. We had seen the German Bakery signs all over the road, even telling you the distance to the restaurant and stopped for lunch, but never saw the "we don't accept credit cards" sign. Anyway, we stopped by for lunch and had lovely lunch and dessert. I didn't care... More
