Best pizza we have eaten in Costa Rica! Tiramisu also was delicious. Accompanied by a great glass of Italian wine. The Sicilian owner made us feel super welcome and he simply knows how to match his skills, perfect wood fired oven and fresh high quality ingredients to create amazing meals.

The food is absolutely delicious! We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Restaurante CASA ITALIA. The owner gave us a warm welcome and showed us a menu with only the freshest ingredients, true Italian cuisine. The trip is worthwhile!

I have visited Casa Italia on many occasions, either with my family or with my clients since I am a tour operator.
It has always been a visit that invites us to return and recommend it to other diners.
The kindness of the owner Cris, the homely atmosphere of the restaurant and the delicious dishes such as the daily specials, pizza and pasta, including bolognese, my son's favorite, inspire us to return again and again.
I think it is a restaurant that every local or traveler in the area should visit. I know it will be a pleasant experience.

The food was amazing the salad fresh and excellent service by the owner. The ambience was relaxed and filled with beautiful birds all around ..Love all the colibries!
I ordered the Mediterranean salad, I must say it was perfect size, fresh and the dressing was homemade and delicious.
We also ordered the Sirloin, it was perfectly cooked and also delicious.
If you want good gourmet food with good prices and great ambiance... This place is it!

Owner, extremely personable, friendly and amazing.
Food, we can expecting some normal Italian food but we’re blown away with the authentic flavors and dynamic palettes. The salad , the pizza , the pasta - all surprised us to how deliciously each was prepared.
Ambiance, beauty in nature outdoor. Cozy, inviting and fresh.

One of the best restaurants we've been too. Everything was top notch, from the atmosphere, the owner, the blended mint lemonade, the burrata, the roasted pork. Even if it's out of your way, please make the detour and you won't regret it.

What a great find! We stopped on our drive through town and couldn't have been happier! An incredible owner/host, great food and a beautiful location. We enjoyed pasta dishes and the focaccia, as well as a wonderful salad. The owner is from Sicily and it shows in the way he hosts and prepares the food. Highly recommend! Worth going out of your way!

The salad was drowned in a honey dressing and was not eatable. The pizzas (pesto and mushroom with ham) was not very good (mushrooms not fresh and ham was some sliced processed meat). The pasta dish was fair. The service was excellent.

Open air restaurant with good protection from sun and rain tucked behind building within a beautiful garden so you cannot see from street and creates peaceful ambiance.
I don’t usually drink Pinot Grigio but I was warm and wanted cool glass and it did not disappoint.
Started with Bruschetta (so ono!) and I enjoyed eggplant Parmesan while husband had a pizza with crumbled sausage. His wood fired crust looked so good that I stole a small bite despite being so full. In hind sight, I should have got the smaller size of eggplant, in order to try a salad or other appetizer, too. Menu had enough variety to satisfy even the most finicky eaters in your family.
The owner was so friendly and shared story of his move from Sicily. Would go back in a heart beat. Good value for the quality of food.

Imagine my surprise to find home-style Italian cooking "like grandma used to make" in small town Costa Rica. [BTW, the center of Nuevo Arenal is mostly a strip of restaurants and a gas station. It's much less hectic / crowded than La Fortuna.] If you enjoy real Italian food and are already with the easy pace of Pura Vida, I heartily recommend this friendly and casual restaurant where you are greeted by the owner. We selected our dishes from the week's specials, written on a chalkboard, and sipped a glass of wine. They're off the main road a couple of blocks but easy to find with GPS and parking is easy, in front on the residential street.

Everyone in our family group (including children) raved about their delicious food. We chose a couple of specialty pastas, plus two pizzas, and desserts. Yummy! We enjoyed the gracious hospitality of chef Christian, who helped our gluten-free family member find an entree that she loved. We even ordered take-away so we could enjoy leftovers the following day. Highly recommend!

We go to Casa Italia when we want a relaxing evening in a garden atmosphere to have a true authentic Italian meal from an Italian. We have also gone as a couple of families & the kids loved playing in the gardens while the meal was being prepared- so now the parents are happy to talk.
Great desserts & wines! You can buy his wonderful homemade breads to take home

Christian , multilingual, gracious explained all the choices. Wood fired oven. authentic Italian cuisine with vegan choices. What's more, Christian offers homebaked bread , ciabetta and hamburger buns on a weekly basis. Nice quiet garden atmosphere , very fair prices.
