We came across this small restaurant with a very friendly terrace on our way from Fortune to Monteverde. What a surprise! The staff are lovely and super helpful, the food is delicious (we had chicken pita sandwiches but the dishes of the people sitting next to us looked just as incredible) and the menu offers quite a lot of choice at totally affordable prices. We also had a delicious strawberry juice (and the same goes for the ice lattes and other cocktails they made, which sounded great). It's a shame we were just passing through! I can more than recommend. Merci beaucoup !

Delicious, fresh, food served with care. Attentive, responsive service, and a lovely view! Indoor and open air seating (for view) under cover of roof. Both breakfast and lunch options pleased every person in our party of 10 (from 7yrs old to 70) to the last crumb. Not to mention, the freshly baked deserts and coffee. The owner is pleasantly involved in every party’s experience and the results speak for themselves! Best priced meal for exceptional quality of our ENTIRE trip. Expect to leave feeling great with a full belly and a smile on your face!

Beautiful place overlooking Lake Arenal.
They treated us very well.
We ordered two sandwiches, one a chicken with mushrooms and for my wife it was a delicious roast beef sandwich.

Another amazing dinner. Actually, the best dining experience of the trip so far. Cafe con Amor was such a delight. We were just going to stop for coffee, but one of the owners (I didn't catch his name 😬) gave such a genuinely loving description of the surf and turf and of some of their vegetarian options for my friends that we decided to stay for dinner.
This new restaurant in Nuevo Arenal is owned by a very pleasant couple, and Jackie is originally from Long Beach. So many expats in Costa Rica! I got to speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese between the both of them, and their friendly service would bring me back in a heartbeat.
The surf and turf was perfect, and the caprese sandwich Lily had was fresh and delicious. This is on my revisit list for sure.

A welcomed breath of freshness and newness to this sweet little town! Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere a lot! The gourmet coffee was outstanding! No Brit coffee in sight! Huzzah! I absolutely loved my avocado toast, very flavorful and the prices are just right. I love how the owners want to create a melting pot of the locals and those visiting. They did a fantastic job on the gourmet offerings and the pricing! Will be frequenting this spot many times!

We stopped in for an afternoon coffee and were greeted with the most gracious hospitality. The experience and coffee was so good, we returned the following day for lunch.
Lunch was fantastic! The garbanzo salad was really yummy with the freshest veggies, luscious red tomatoes accompanied by homemade dressing made with hint of mango presented in a mini corked glass bottle (cool). The grilled cheese avocado sandwich was epic. Local avocado, melted mozzarella-like cheese, sun dried tomatoes, enveloped in and amazing on premises baked focaccia roll. Wow!
Carlos, Jackie and their helper provided outstanding service with joy. We highly recommend Cafe con Amor. 5 stars are not enough, this place is 10 stars!!

A sweet experience with fresh local choices, including chocolate treats, tropical juices, and creative twists on classics—like a yucca patty as a gluten-free option for eggs benny and avo toast. The food and service are wonderful and the view is lovely. While traffic noise can be noticeable outside, the indoor tables offer a quieter retreat.

We met up with some friends at Cafe con amor and ended up staying for lunch/dinner. While we were there, there was a huge rainstorm, so we stayed for about three hours and kept on ordering food and drinks. The food and service were phenomenal. We were a large party (6 adults, 6 kids) and Ashley took very good care of us. There were lots of hummingbirds feeding off the front porch that were amazing to watch. Mil gracias a Ashley por todo! Nos encantaron la comida, la bebida, el ambiente y el buen servicio!

This is a delightful spot to enjoy a lovely meal and/or some fabulous Costa Rican coffee, with a expansive town and lake view and attentive staff. Portions are right-sized, not too large, and very satisfying. The menu is a fresh and imaginative take on Costa Rican and continental standards, with a wide array of desserts also on offer. We especially enjoyed the kind and friendly people!
It is on the main street, so expect traffic noise.

Delicious coffee, great food. We came for breakfast and it was great! I had the avacado that... perfectly toasted, thick homemade sourdough slices slathered in avacado with 2 perfectly poached eggs, plentiful crisp bacon, cheese, tomatoes, and more avacado on top. my wife had the fresh fruit with overnight oats. she loved it. Ashley was pleasant and attentive. We loved all the hummingbirds, too!

This is our new favorite coffee shop! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast of avocado toast and eggs benedict with our coffee. We will definitely be back to try the lunch menu everyone has been raving about. With menu items unique to the area, this place is sure to be a popular treat. And the location even has a view of Lake Arenal!

The coffee is the best one we’ve tried up until now in Costa Rica. The owner said he uses local high quality coffee from the farms and you can definitely taste this. The place offers different coffee brews and also fresh smoothies/juices that are also a must. It has a great view and atmosphere in general, and the owner is very kind and helpful. If you are travelling to the Arenal park or in general staying in the area, make sure to stop by

Beautiful spot, with great food! I ordered the fried egg grilled cheese and it was absolutely delicious. The bread is baked fresh daily and the cheese was so good! Also ordered a coffee and donut which was great. Servers were very friendly. View from our table of Lake Arenal was spectacular!

On our drive from La Fortuna to Monteverde we came across this little cafe and stopped for lunch. We ordered a Plato tipico and it was absolutely delicious. The town the cafe is located in is adorable and the staff here was super attentive. Definitely recommend stopping by here for a super tasty and affordable meal!
