On returning from our Christmas break in Penzance the traffic on the A30 was really bad so we decided to stop for a bite to eat. Fortunately the Half Way House accepts dogs in the bar area. We had a very friendly welcome from both the staff and regulars, which included plenty of dog biscuits for our German Shepherd. The... More

Have to say they do the best chips I've ever had here - the rest of the food not too bad either but nowhere near enough veggie options to keep one interested. It's only 10 mins walk form my new house and I would visit a lot more if more veggie options and also....if it was just a bit nicer... More

Good value Sunday lunch, nicely cooked choice of meat and of good quality, vegetables, plenty of choice, and not over cooked and done to death like some carvery's; a return will be on the cards.

I visited The Halfway House to celebrate my Mums 60th Birthday, in hope of a setting and a celebratory meal every bit as special as she is and unsurprisngly, the Halfway delivered from every angle, it simply couldn't have been more perfect... The food was exquisite and the staff outstanding; making the birthday meal extra special for us all from... More

An excellent lunchtime meal in a friendly pub with a good knowledge of gluten free requirements. Good ham and very cunchy chips well presented with fresh side salad. I have noticed on previous visits the friendly interaction between the staff and customers, both the barmaid and the waitress obviously know a lot of the regular diners well and it makes... More

3 of us went here after finding out the Otter Inn was closed due to change of ownership. Principally it's a Carvery pub with a pub lunch menu. My colleagues chose Baguettes and I chose a Panini that was advertised with a side garnish and chips. The Panini itself was average, but the chips portion could be counted by the... More

Stopped by for a meal. A good size retaurant area which was very busy. Excellent food and a good selection of drinks. Staff were friendly and welcoming, helpful and the service was very good.

Stayed in area for 2 nights and ate here 2 nights in a row because the food was that nice. Excellent choice, home cooked and plentiful! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Visited this establishment twice whilst staying at the Weir Mill Farm nearby. Friendly staff, good reasonably priced food and a pleasant garden.

Have visited several times over the last few years for meals, the last two times portions seem to be allot smaller, I used to love the prawn jacket potato as loads of prawns and good value for money, last time and today I ordered this and hardly any prawns which is disappointing for the price. Would of fed back but... More
