A great visit to this well situated pub. An ideal watering hole if you are walking the east Devon coastal path. Loads of food options at a reasonable price including numerous veggie choices. Wide range of lager and cider also. Staff are very polite and helpful especially Ana. Might be worth booking a table if you are after an evening... More

Visited the Anchor Inn for lunch. Lovely atmosphere and good location. Only downside - parking. No hotel parking, adjacent Council car park is a 'rip off'. There is a large car park in the village but disabled may find it too far to walk to.

Great friendly pub with an excellent location, good selection of beer & wine, and a good menu. Dog friendly too.

We had just arrived in Beer after a day of travelling so we popped out for dinner at The Anchor Inn pub, which we have visited before, and had great food and service. However, this time was not the same! We ordered, 1 fish pie and 2 sausages and mash, the fish pie was rather basic! One sausages and mash... More

We booked for 8p.m., ordered shortly afterwards and waited and waited. An hour and ten minutes later the very ordinary food-service food arrived. Despite a partial discount for our trouble it isn't somewhere we will return to. Why can't managers anticipate demand and staff up? Half term, Friday night..do the maths!!

This was a busy restaurant so booking is advised as they just squeezed us in for an early dinner. We both had the Indian platter, it was tasty and hot and plentiful - too much for me! It's a chain group but we enjoyed the food and it was reasonably priced.

My family and I had a Sunday lunch in here. It was very busy, so we where a bit unsure at first. As soon as we walked in a waitress greeted us and found us a table straight away. Food was very nice and took no time at all to come out. Very well price especially the kids meals which... More

We stopped here for lunch after a winter walk. Food on other tables looked good and bar/menu prices sensible,so we decided to go for a light lunch. Pulled pork sandwich and soup. Both really good, but served on wooden plates which may or may not be to your liking. The staff were excellent and I'm sure if you asked for a... More

This is our annual New Year Pilgrimage to this lovely Hotel in Beer, Devon. We have a lovely meal on News Years Eve followed by a short walk to the Beach to watch a spectacular Firework Display put on by the locals every New Year. New Year wouldn't be the same without it. The food at The Anchor over the... More
