Roberto is genuinely talented chef, who deserves attention. His restaurant is situated in a Tuscan countryside, inside of his restaurant is elegant and charming. Very friendly and professional staff helps You to accomodate and choose the dishes and wines ( wine list also impressive) Food is beyond amazing, made out of perfectly chosen best and local ingredients. Highly recommended !... More

It may feel like a long drive to the middle of nowhere but it is definitely worth the effort. Visiting in February everywhere is very quiet, if not closed, so we were pleased to find this restaurant was open. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived, the service was excellent, the food was well presented and... More

This is a Michelin starred restaurant in a tiny village near Seggiano. The 3 of us dined there on a Tuesday for lunch. We were greeted by the maitre'd and shown to our table but it was the chef and owner Roberto Rossi who discussed the menu with us and took our orders. Roberto advised that everything on the menu... My wife and I went here as a result of an old guide book recommendation with no real expectation of greatness but how wrong we were. The restaurant is somewhat out of the way and as you are driving to it you might have second thoughts but ignore them. In every way we were so very pleased. The food was... More

Roberto Rossi is a true gentleman and you will feel like a member of his family in his restaurant. The Michelin star is well deserved. The freshest ingredients and the skillful touch of his team are what makes this a special experience.

We were there in family (7 persons) including my 5y old daughter who received kind attention from the Chef. Dishes were generally excellent (rabbit, risotto, pastas, fine raw beef, vegetables in pastry...) but chicken was poorly presented for a restaurant of that level. Waiter and Chef behave with great professionalism towards us during whole meal but Chef was absent when... More

The food was terrible, it really was - even if we had payed less than half in a 'standard' Osteria/Trattoria or even a gasoline station. The starter was a puff pastry basket with some vegetables in it - carrot, peppers, celery and a poached egg. Puff pastry basket? Hello, 1960's called! Anyway, the vegetables where really underwhelming - slightly boiled... More

We recently had wonderful lunch at Il Silene, which was recommended to us by our hosts at Castello di Pontentino, Seggiano. Every aspect of the experience was superb starting with the professional service. Based on Chef Roberto's morning shopping recommendation my husband had a delicious steak tartare to start, and the courses that followed were just as delicious. The surprise... More

This restaurant came so highly recommended perhaps we were bound to be a little disappointed. The service was superb and the wine was excellent but looking back on the food at a distance of a few weeks, the only memorable thing was the delicious desert with candy floss as an ingredient. I found too much skin in my chicken which... More

My wife and I have been coming here for 14 years and have loved every meal. Chef/owner Roberto Rossi and Chef Lella's tortelli remains special even as every dish is outstanding in both taste and appearance on the plate. Service has remained friendly and professional and the wine list is very well chosen and well priced. Near the base of... More
