This restaurant was born 5 generations ago. Since 1890 La Scottiglia serves local Italian food with high quality products and great service by the owners. With a beautiful view of the Senesi hills, special wine and wonderful food , you can expect a great gastronomic experience. You can't miss the "tortello al Tartufo".

We dined here three times on holiday. Very friendly. The food was very good. wonderful soups and pasta meals. The sunsets are incredible up there. On a clear night you can see Elba and Corsica.

This is a place you just do not want to miss! A skip and a throw from Castel del Piano and on the route to Mount Amiata, you will probably be served some of the best quality fare in the area. Massimo is friendly, knowledgeable and works the tables, his cousin Fabio is busy in the kitchen. Everything is locally... More

This place has some of the best food in Italy; however, what makes this place truly special is the amazing waitress. I highly suggest the pasta with breadcrumbs!

We went here to have dinner with a large group of friends, obviously booking in advance; the place is very nice, the staff is very kind and helpful, and last but not least the food is very very good! Don't miss the spaghetti alla carbonara and the cinghiale alla cacciatora (boar meat), then among desserts I can suggest the semifreddo... More

We dined al fresco in the beautiful garden with a large group to celebrate a significant birthday. The owners allowed us to decorate our table with lights and personalised place settings. I was disappointed the wild boar was not available as this had been recommended to me weeks earlier but I had a fabulous fillet steak cooked to perfection. The... More

After riding a bike up Mt. Amiata, this family owned restaurant was not only much needed, the quality of the food was amazing. I'm ready to return.

The last full day of our visit to a very unspoilt part of Tuscany and a lunchtime visit to a no frills restaurant using locally sourced food and wines at great value for money pricing served by really friendly staff. The place was full of chattering Italians who clearly knew and loved their grub and at around £20 for a... More

Great local food and very friendly service, no English menu, but English spoken, go for local dishes. Good with kids, local wine is great.

Thank Jim T
