Unusual and very successful marriage of flavours (eg mackerel with smoked aubergine). My husband had the courgette and fennel gaspacho, also lovely. Excellent local produce and very good table service. Very enjoyable evening. Thank you!

We had a terrific meal in this tiny little restaurant. Every dish was way above average and the price was more than reasonable. Great, friendly service as well!

We chose this little Bistro from the 2018 Guide Michelin which we informed the hostess. However, she told us that she and her husband only took over the restaurant a month ago. If their service, dishes and very good wine list remain at this level...they should do well. We certainly hope so. We thoroughly enjoyed out meal, arriving quite late at 1.15 pm to a cheerful greeting. We chose a wonderful Avocat Crevettes with legumes, citron sorbet and a small but intense orange sauce (delicious). Then the pork medallions with mushrooms and a sort of sauerkraut. The pork was beautiful although the dark cabbage we both found to be a bit too crunchy. I really recommend this little place if you want an enjoyable food experience.More

Don't like normally to be overly expansive on lunch reviews but this was a really good choice. Four of us, we all enjoyed the food, nice atmosphere, service. I wouldn't drive 20k to go here, but if you are in Quimperle I would recommend it...as a safe and very good spot for a meal.More

Located “around the corner” in a small street near the covered market this is a dining experience you will not forget. If wine is your thing their thick catalogue runs the gamut from modest to virtually unaffordable. The food is “to die for”—using a small...menu which changes frequently (choose between 2 starter “entrees”, 2 main course “plates”, an assortment of cheeses and then between 2 desserts) they are able to create absolutely scrumptious food bursting with flavor. The breads are not forgotten; they are also terrific. The service is personal and professional. And if you're worried about free wi-fi (which they may have for all I know) you should eat somewhere else--this is about terrific food, professionally served. Nobody had their cellphones out.More

The Bistro de la Tour is one of Quimperle's finer small restaurants. Tucked away in a small street off the market square, it has a couple of isolated outdoor tables, but the inside is much livelier, with an eclectic collection of very good wine bottles...and old box brownie cameras. The food was excellent: mackerel à la plancha was fresh, light and not at all oily. A pork chop, slow-cooked and then spit roasted was deliciously tender and tasty even winning over my wife who is normally not a big fan of pork. The wine list is impressive for its focus on Burgundy - lots of Burgundy! (And only three lonely bottles of Bordeaux.) Everything is there, from Romanée Conti and La Tâche to a range of much cheaper non-appellation wines made by négociants from the same vineyards and grapes that go into the top appellations; we had a simple Chardonnay that tasted every bit as good as a top Meursault. Round that off with friendly service and good prices, and you have a recipe for a very enjoyable evening!More

This is not a Michelin-starred restaurant, but they do everything right. Everything we were served was prepared perfectly and paired with a nice wine. Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable -- proud of their product. Pretty little dining room. We saw couples and families. Many...guests dressed casually (it was a warm summer evening). Recommended.More

We were so glad we'd come across this place in the Michelin guide. The service and food was exquisite. Well worth a visit.

This is far from what we usually think of as bistro fare which is steak frites and the like. There are only two choices for each gourmet course but both were very good. They change frequently. The place is small with interesting decorative touches. Service...was great.More

Always a big favourite, the Bistro de la Tour still delivers. The menu is limited - generally there is a meat option and a fish option for mains each day - and is based on local ingredients. Perfect bistro decor and ambience. Discreet, attentive, friendly...service. An extensive wine-list. Most importantly, however, the dishes are simply beautifully conceived and executed. On this occasion, the starter was a delicate 'assiette raffinée' of crab, the main a magret de canard. Both were perfect.More
