The women of this society seem to be the more creative. This place is filled with many of the typical (and beautiful) woven creations you would expect to find in Guatemala, including scarves, shawls, table runners, hair accessories, and so forth.

I had a private tour with a coffee importer who has had a long relationship with La Voz. This seems a wonderful place to assist the small coffee growers in the area..nearly all women and produces fabulous coffee. The processing of coffee by hand is very interesting and the organization and offerings of the Cooperative are so spot on for... More

Very informative tour of a farmer owned coffee plantation. Afterward they give you a coffee drink and you can buy some.

I had the pleasure of touring this weaving cooperative. Getting to see the whole process of making their beautiful textiles was so interesting. They are involved in every step of the process. They grow the cotton, spin it into yarn, grow the plants for the dye, make the dye, dye the yarn-then they begin the weaving process! When you see... More

It was fun to see how coffee is produced. The guide was very knowledgeable. Walk-in for our group was accepted. Tour ended with a cup of coffee and a cookie plus opportunity to purchase coffee.

I'd heard about the coffee in this farm from so many of my friends at the lake that I had to try it myself. We took a tuc tuc from San Pedro to San Juan and got to enjoy a hot, delicious cup of coffee while talking coffee with Lucas who was such a great host. They sell their coffee... More

Andres, the director, and La Voz staff are good people to work with. As the director of a medical clinic in town, we take visiting groups to La Voz for the Coffee Tour they do year round...and this year we worked a deal in which we can actually go and pick coffee for 2-3 hours and learn first hand just... Coffee farmers normally earn very little compared to processors, roasters and distributors. This cooperative is the result of the community organizing to command fair rates for small producers. The tour is very interesting and there's a lovely cafe where you can try the delicious coffee.

This is a wonderful cooperative that must be seen when in San Juan! We decided to take the 1.5 hour tour and we highly recommend it. You see the coffee-making process from beginning to end and then you have a cup of their wonderful coffee. I do not even like coffee but thought that the espresso was wonderful. Please don't... Stumbled upon this quiet place in search of coffee burlap sacks. Great coffee co-op where you can take a tour (we didn't) or just sit on the indoor/outdoor patio and enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastry while taking in the view of La Nariz (mountain). Beautiful little garden surrounding the patio. Take a tuk-tuk to arrive here from... More
