The place is great and the people very friendly. There's a lot of options of dishes and you are helping with inclusion.

Amazing Food! Their purpose of the restaurant is heart warming, they offer therapy and jobs to those with disabilities due to the fact that Guatemalans schools do not help students with disabilities.
After the fist experience in this restaurant, i have ate all the days of my holiday in this place. I found out that is not a “normal restaurant”, it is a social enterprise, working towards social inclusion of people with disabilities. The restaurant has an...amazing location, with a beautiful garden.More
This little restaurant is very hard to find. There is a mobile phone shop and bakery and in between, through a really tiny alleyway, here it is. Menu is a little bit limited but with plenty of choice for everybody. Meat lovers, seafood enthusiasts, vegetarians....No wine but good offer of beers. This restaurant supports local people with disabilities. They learn bake sourdough bread, use sewing machines and can take a handicraft workshop. This will enabled them to live more independently. Food was good and we recommend you to visit here.More
We loved Alma de Colores. I went there with my husband and 4 friends, we ordered 2 pizzas and they tasted delicious. Hope to be back sooner than later. Very cozy place and everyone was so nice!
I had an wonderful experience in Alma de Colores! You must stop in this inclusive and sustainable restaurant if you visit San Juan La Laguna! The food its amazing and everything its made by a wonderful group of people from Atitlan Lake!
Very simple place that is a little off the beaten track so best to just get a tuktuk there for 5q and then walk back. Then you won’t miss the colourful Centro Histórico street that is the best part of the town! The menu will...be just a few things, all veggie. My burrito was so tasty and the salad tasted like the ingredients had been picked from their garden that morning. Loved the homemade dressing too. Cheap and delicious..highly recommend!More
I am not a vegetarian, but I keep coming back to Amas de colores because the food is refreshing and filling. It is my #1 favorite restaurant in San Juan for a frequent meal. I always enjoy what I order, the menu is updated regularly,...all veggies are locally grown in their garden, the interior has lovely ambiance, and the employees are all a part of the Amas program assisting people with special needs. I truly cannot recommend this place enough give it a try and It will become one of your favorite places to frequent also.More
Simple place with some of the best vegetarian food you will ever taste. Ingredients are local, staff is amazing and they definetly put their soul into the food which you can taste. Lasagna and stuffed eggplant are simply a breathtaking eating experience. Also worth noting...is that the proceeds go for a good cause!More
Wow! Fantastic service and delicious vegetarian food. The quesadilla was stuffed with veggies, and the salad was average size but came with wonderful, homemade, whole wheat bread. We also had the opportunity to see one of the gardens where employees cultivate crops organically, and learned...a bit more about this fantastic program!More
Highly recommend this lovely place with peaceful view. Food is delicious, healthy, good value and it's great cause: supporting adults with disabilities into work. Lovely friendly staff.
Awesome food and a great organization to support! The bread is superb. I also bought a beautifully crafted necklace. Well worth a visit.
Had the pleasure to get at this beautiful place, San Juan la Laguna. A place where tourists didn’t manage to overcome traditions and local culture, not like in other villages next to this one. El Comedor of Alma de Colores is part of a project...that has as main goal the social and working inclusion of disable indigenous people. It is also one of the laboratories created to reach the goal. In fact the other laboratories involve green veggies gardens, bakery, hand-crafted items. So you’ll find this beautiful restaurant with an amazing view on Lake Atitlan, getting friend with the guys (who are part of the project) working at the restaurant and tasting fresh vegetarian plates and amazing bread and pizzas, all made by the project itself. Everyday te menus changes according to what the earth give them, so I don’t feel like suggesting any particular dish, but just to feel comfortable and try whatever it is gonna be. Why not getting a nice lunch while doing at te same time something really good for our brothers in San Juan ?! P.s. if you are the kind of person who’s always in a hurry, please avoid to go in Guatemala ! Sit down and enjoy ;)More
I loved the restaurant and boutique. Everything made by people who have disabilities, or, are other-abled! Our meal was delicious, the setting beautiful, and restroom was gender and ability neutral. A must dine and visit destination. Be sure to take lots of extras Qs and...stock up on the handcrafts available at the counter.More
Excellent, fresh, and super nice welcoming!! Vegetables from their own garden, and they help children with handicaps. Great restaurant!
