Given the generally great reviews a friend and I decided to give this restaurant a try. Conveniently located on the 6th floor of a prominent Tokyo landmark across from the central railway station, it was easy to find. Our table was in the middle of a relatively spacious and quiet opening on the floor and even though away from the... More

We visited Salt on a whim on our recent trip to Japan. Passing the Marunouchi Building on our way to the Imperial Palace grounds, we noticed an advert for Salt on the 6th floor. Aware of Aussie chef, Luke Mangan, we decided to have a look. Well, it was just past midday and the lunch menu looked very good, so... More

What a surprise to find such a great restaurant in an office/shopping centre building. We found it by accident and were so pleased we did as the food combined glorious Japanese styling with clean fresh Australian ideas. The waiter helped us in our choices perfectly and every dish was wonderful.

My friend and I went here for a casual dinner a week day and had the Taste of Australia menu priced at 6500 JPY+10% service charge. The food was great and the service was absolutely excellent. Will definitely go back.

We decided to have dinner at Salt out of curiosity. The restaurant seemed to be very busy every time we were in the area. The service was good. We opted to get the dinner course. What I liked most was the presentation of the dishes...very creative and daring. Overall, it's a very good place to splurge for a dinner.

We stepped into Salt almost by accident looking for a place to have our last dinner in Tokyo before our midnight flight back home. It was great. Ample choices of everything, good service ( except for that yelled greetings at group's members...what is that all about?), nice decor but that is not the focus point, and good flavors. I had... A family outing to celebrate our grandaughter's first birthday. The restaurant presented a lamington with one candle and there was a music box playing "happy birthday." Being opposite Tokyo station makes Salt easy to find. The staff were helpful and attentive. The fixed price (3000 yen) menu had a good range of choices reflecting Australian cuisine. We were all very... More

was here for my wifes birthday one sunday lunch. good service, you see the waiters were making an effort to speak english. the traditional quality japanese service though felt a little weird when mixed with modern style - such as explaining every dish you are getting. anyway, food was good, service was nice so nothing to complain about. a bit... We had eaten at this restaurant several years ago and decided that we should return given we had some layover time in Tokyo. The restaurant looks tired and dated, the walls are marked from the removal and replacement of artwork on the walls. The service seems indifferent and the menu was very limited on the night we ere there. This... More

Very creative and tasty food with a European flair. Very convenient to the Tokyo station. The ingredients were very fresh and the flavors exotic. English speaking staff in a very pretty setting made the whole experience a pleasure. One of the best meals we had in Japan.
