Simply put, the perfect broth, thick and spicy (different levels of spicy to choose amongst). The noodles are also great. Located close to Kanda station. Clean place. No lines when we visited.

If you're thinking about going here, just go and don't ask questions. It's amazing, also make sure you get the normal ramen and two big pieces of pork. LITERALLY the best pork I've ever tasted.

Probably the best ramen in tokyo you'll get to taste. Although you'll probably have to wait in line for some time it's well worth it! Their ramen come in different degrees of spicy, be careful if you're going for the spicier ones...

Very rich broth and the pork was unreal! The noodle is a little broader than the usual, allowing it to soak up the delicious broth. Get the one that has everything. We went mild on the numbing pepper and medium on the other kind and found that it's not too spicy this way. Get there 10 mins before it opens... More

I went to this place three times in my 2 week visit and have to say i was very happy each time i went! Off course as you know, you order your meal through a vending machine, put your money in and push away at the buttons at what you want. Then you join the line, about half way into... More

Once you arrive there is a queue, good signal for a Ramen spot in Japan; once you get closer to the entrance a flute music from religious ceremonies welcomes you. The devil wooden masks and an ogre claw create the perfect atmosphere for the meal you are going to enjoy. Kikanbo has not only a top of class Ramen, but... More

Been in Japan for 2 weeks now and had quite a bit if ramen. Nothing compares to this place. Don't go to Tokyo without going here. Have tried other "top" places only to be disappointed after eating here. There are things higher on the TripAdvisor list but probably because this isn't as easy to walk into off of a main... More

My godddddddddd, the pork! This beautiful, fall apart, sweet but salty, fatty but not, gorgeous gorgeous pork. My partner ordered the 'Ramen big pork' option, whilst I went for the regular ramen with an egg topping. Boy oh boy did I kick myself after tasting the one piece of pork I had in my bowl. It was a revelation.... We... More

As always, this place never fails to impress! I just wish the restaurant was bigger! Since I saw this place on TV five years ago, I've been bringing all my western friends here.... Everyone who's eaten here thinks it's fantastic! Danny.... Tokyo via UK

Neighbourhood Profile
Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.
