Located in Daimaru on the 10th floor, look for the coffee cup sign - you’re welcome! The desserts here were a food highlight in our trip to Japan. I recommend anything with matcha or hojicha. It gets packed, go early if you can. We went...at opening time; the Daimaru floor was empty but the cafe was already quite full.More
Loved Tsujiri in Kyoto. Glad they had a branch in Ginza as well. Great service, great desserts, great tea, great location. Matcha parfaits were the way to go.
I've been here a few times and everything I've tried has been delicious. It's got a nice ambience but can get a bit crowded at peak hours. Still worth a visit if you're in the area and a matcha fan like me.
Tsujiri is the very famous and popular tea place among Japanese people. Originally from Kyoto. It’s the safe selection to taste good matcha. You can’t go wrong with this place. They have various matcha sweets and some Japanese light meal. I recommend you to come...before 11:30, especially on weekend. More
I lined up nearly an hour even around 5 o'clock on Saturday and waited for a half hour before the parfait coming. The Parfait costs 1500 yen, and it is hefty. I hope that half size parfait will be served at half...price in the future.More
Was highly recommended to visit Tsujiri for green tea and sweets, particularly parfait, by a local Japanese who knows the food scene well. This was our final full day in Tokyo and had also come here to purchase sweets and matcha given the glowing recommendation....Though the wait staff spoke limited English, they were very attentive, friendly and managed to clarify some questions we had. The parfait certainly did not disappoint and the matcha and sweets I had was also top notch. So having tasted the goods, I was all psyched to purchase my planned load of matcha and sweets at the shop. There was only a cashier on the floor of this small shop with no other customers around. We asked the cashier (prefacing with “sumimasen” (excuse me) for some help to locate the powdered matcha (as opposed to the other types of leaved teas). She walked out of her cashier area and rudely tapped the Japanese labels in front of the matcha teas and went back to her papers at the cashier area without so much as even looking at us. My wife looked at each other stunned. We thought maybe she was shy and didn’t know how to communicate well. So we called out to her again -“sumimasen, can you help us understand more about your matchas?” She looked really irritated now and again rudely tapped onto the Japanese labels several times along the whole matcha product offering. We asked if she spoke English or if there was someone who could speak English that she could get for us. She simply said “No English!” and walked back to her paperwork. I looked at my wife and indicated this was certainly not where we were going to make our purchase glowing recommendation or not. I then immediately paid for the food and drinks I had consumed with this very unpleasant cashier (she was probably in her 20s) and left. As I left, I noticed they had put up a sign at the entrance indicating they were not receiving any more guests. Ah, so it was closing time and this cashier was probably busy closing the accounts for the day. Still, this was no way to treat customers and was clearly the most unpleasant experience with a Japanese customer service staff we had having spent a full week in Tokyo where service and hospitality is unparalleled anywhere else in the world. Would have given this at least 4 stars if not for the shocking last few minutes spent here. Let this be a case study on impact of poor service.More
I went to this shop when I traveled to Kyoto previously. I'm happy that there is a branch on the 10th floor of Daimaru Tokyo. The Daimaru Tokyo Shop Limited Period Menu Christmas Parfait is delicious. The atmosphere and taste are slightly different from...the Kyoto branch, but it is still a nice shop.More
A great selection of high quality matcha desserts! We particularly enjoyed the parfaits and mochi especially on a cold day. However our order of the strongest variant of green tea came very saturated and is quite the acquired taste- not for most palettes. Nevertheless, a...nice place for sweets and chitchat after some shopping!More
My recommendation is to visit Saryo TSUJIRI, which is a Japanese style cafe. The headquarters which was founded in 1978 is in Kyoto, and it is a well-known cafe in Kyoto. The cafe was established because the owners wanted the youth culture to experience the correct...way of brewing tea and how to consume tea, and to feel the original taste of tea. They have some branches in Kyoto and Tokyo. If you like Japanese sweets, I recommend this cafe. There are many types of Japanese sweets such as Zenzai, Shiratama anmitsu and Japanese green tea parfait and so on. Especially, if you like Japanese green tea parfaits, I recommend going to this cafe, because they are notorious for delicious Japanese green tea parfaits. I went to Daimaru branch in Tokyo with my mother. This cafe is near to Tokyo station, so we can find easily. There are many various of Japanese green tea parfaits so, it was hard to decide which parfait to choose. Finally, I decided to order “Koto parfait autumn version”. This parfait is used purple sweet potato paste and kanroni of chestnut. Kanroni is Japanese traditional sweets. This is made of boiled chestnut, which is similar to glace chestnut. Furthermore, it is a limited time offer product which I’m attracted to. We can eat Koto parfait with dark molasses, but this perfait is so delicious even without dark molasses, I was likely to forget to eat with add the dark molasses. It was so sweet to eat the parfait with it. We can see Japanese style portraits inside this cafe while eating, so we can feel Japanese mood. There are big windows and this cafe is located on the 10th floor, so we can see a view of Tokyo. They used Japanese traditional music as background music which makes the good atmosphere. The volume of background music is high volume, so we can talk with accompany without concern for other people conversation. The customers who visits here are adults because this cafe is located in the Daimaru department store. In the Daimaru department store, there are a lot of expensive brand shops so you may feel awkward in coming to the cafe. This is only one of negative points in this cafe, I think. But we can enjoy adult atmosphere. If you visit with girlfriend or boyfriend, you may have good time with her or him. I wish you have good time with your precious person.More
It was just an accidentally founded during our trip to Dimaru in Ginza, Tokyo. I ordered the parfait with Japanese white and green mochi with 2 scoops of ice cream. The ice cream taste are delicious and the mochi are gummy but it is a...great combination. For Hojicha, the smell is so nice until it made me buy it back hone for 2 packs!More
So good that you can’t stop! The matcha ice cream was brilliant, the ice was smooth, the mochi was melt in your mouth fantastic, and did you know there’s jelly noodles! Omg. 10th floor of Daimaru... bookmarked.
So i came here on my last day in Japan. Its in the 10th floor in Daimaru (Tokyo Stn). Everything is infused with green tea. Keep in mind this is NOT the same as the Gion Tsujiri. I got the soba and parfait set. The...soba was sooo good (top3 meal in Japan). It was light and flavourful and soo delicious.. Parfait was mouthwatering and I was considering getting seconds. The ice cream was soo soft and buttery. All the toppings and the balls/jellies were soo good. This is a must visit in Tokyo station. Be ware as there maybe a wait :)More
This isn't just a place you will stumble across, being up on the 10th floor of the department store. It is a great respite from the rush of the city, and you get a good view out. They offer a range of matcha desserts, but...the menu is only in Japanese. You can sort of work out what's in them from the pictures, but it does take a bit of guesswork. There are traditional ones, like mochi with matcha syrup, and also more elaborate parfaits. We found them well done, with good textures and flavours, and not too sweet. If you're into matcha, it is worth the visit.More
If u want to try the Japanese tea desserts...I suggest u to go to this Japanese cafeteria inside Daimaru department store.
