I went back for another dip into Menya Kissou's tsukimen ramen. This time I went during a normal weekday to see how busy it was. Happy to say that the wait is much shorter, but there is still a small wait. I arrived at 2pm and there was one person ahead of us. We were seated within 5 minutes though... More

Fantastic tsukemen (dipping noodles). Maybe the best in Tokyo. This place is almost 5 stars. The wait is just too long and the hours are short, opening only 5 days a week (no Sunday/Wednesday) from 11:30am to 3pm. The noodles are made on location. They are thick and wonderful. Menyakisso has been the number 1 ramen shop in Tokyo for many years until the last couple of years some new stars of ramen popping up in shinkoiwa, kameari, hachioji district of the city. Beautiful clear soup! Be aware that you may need to stand in a line and wait for 20 - 30 mins... or longer.. very popular ramen noodle shop.

This tiny little noodle bar is located in Koto, Toyko (Kiba station) is voted by the Japanese as the best ramen place in Toyko (via ramen database, yes there is such a website, check it out). Opens only for only a few hours a day and it get really busy, as there are only 10 stall in the shop floor,... More
